In order for BU to take the next step toward more national recognition (ala Gonzaga) we have to start winning more of these types of games.
I??™m 100% in agreement here. BU as the Gonzaga of the Midwest would be the best thing ever, but like you said, we have to win these games to get there. It seems we are at least moving in the right direction so that??™s a start. Losing Ruff and JC is really going to hurt next year.

Maybe next time we get a 9 point lead against a team the caliber of Michigan St we won't throw up bad shots several time in a row without taking much time off the clock like we did in the first half. To be the Gonzaga of the Mid-West we have to surpass Butler and SIU, who, in my opnion ARE the Gonzaga's of the Mid-West.

I agree....Butler and SIU have been the class of the midwest "mid-majors" for the past few years but I think BU is getting closer. We need to keep scheduling the big boys and then start winning some of these games. Most of all BU needs to make some noise in the big dance in March. The exposure that the NCAA tournament provides is priceless.

Hey.... don't forget about Xavier! Elite 8 in 2004. Since 2000, they are 6-6 in the NCAA, SIU is 5-6 and Butler is 5-4.

You're right MMob. I forgot about Xavier. I guess I thought about them because we play SIU twice a year, at least, and Butler is usually on the schedule. Sure would help to beat one of them on the road.

I'm still upset about the loss... but I'm really looking forward to the end of the Horizon League tour. Would love to come out with two road wins. I believe if this team (even if they didn't get the W this time), if they play like this for the rest of the year, as opposed to a big hangover from the loss, we could have a really nice end to the non-conference season.

nothing against SS (he did a great job getting to the board when he was in)

I see that Marquise Gray loves the mayor (of East Lansing), too.

That is priceless!! Can you imagine what we would put one of our office buddies through with a photo like this. I hope the rest of the team takes it easy on Sam S!

Certainly that situation is a bit funnier now....but I remember watching the game and laughing because Gray looked and acted absolutely stunned that he was whistled for a foul! He really thought he had a tie-up!
