Sorry, I couldn't get PM to work. I'm planning on getting there around 11:30. Just come to table 46 and ask for me.

O&B is safe, Chico- I sat with him at a U of I football game a few years back.... lol

I hope it is a good luncheon!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

I remember that game.....back when U of I was practically giving tickets away to get people to come!

I'm trying to decide which one of us is the most "safe".....I think it's probably a tie!!

Just came from the lunceon...record sized crowd, good food, and Tom Izzo was great. Also Jim DeRose spoke to the crowd and told a bit of what their season has been like.
It was announced that there are currently 5 full busloads of students signed up to travel to Ohio State.

                Go Braves.

Perhaps the best gameday luncheon ever. Tom Izzo was already one of my favorite college coaches, but man, my respect and admiration for him has just skyrocketed. He's a true gem, a real throwback. MSU is very lucky to have him.

The BU 'angst' is growing. I got the impression that Izzo knows just how big this game is. I hope we're ready.
                  Onward and Upward!

My 1st gameday luncheon.....it was very entertaining and emotional, from Jim Derose talking about the soccer team, to JL's comments to Coach Izzo. I especially liked the Q&A segment, where JL asked Coach Izzo what defense he was planning on using tonight.....and the cowboy boots story about Gene Keady was priceless!

I too got the impression that Coach Izzo knows just how important this game is for them, calling it a "quality win or a quality loss". He had nothing but praise for the BU program under JL and the Valley as a whole. Izzo also said that other coaches told him he was crazy for coming to Peoria to play BU.

I haven't been this excited about a game in a long, long time.....

                      Likewise....
if I have 20 tickets I could have used them all with every friend and co-worker asking if I had extra!

As I hijack this thread to make a point from another thread...

That's what this is! The most "Exciting" game in Peoria in 25 years.
It is not the Biggest (Bigger would be winning the MVC Title. Bigger is beating rival ISU. Even the Providence NIT win was bigger because a loss would mean the season ended.) MSU certainly feels like the most exciting game played in Peoria during the ESPN era.

Illinois v Bradley November 22 1999 was and is the most exciting/anticipated game to have or will be played in Peoria in the last 25 years.
