Next game- Southeast Missouri- Saturday, Dec. 1, 7:05 pm
I remember reading about Will Bogan when he was in high school, and when Bradley really needed to land some big men recruits.
He was not highly recruited, despite being nearly 7 feet tall and over 300 pounds. He played for a tiny school in the smallest class in Missouri. He did dominate most of his competetion, but he was playing against small schools with few opponents that could match his size. He averaged 22.2 points and 14.7 rebounds per game as a senior.
He has now started 3 of SEMO's 7 games, and is their leading rebounder with 5.6 rpg, as well as scoring 8.7 ppg. In high school, his conditioning was a major reason more schools weren't recruiting him, but he is playing 19 minutes per game. So it should be interesting to see if he can get up and down the court with Bradley's style of play.
anybody notice on their roster their guard Hank Harris went to seward county cc. he's a juco transfer and was theron wilson's teamate. that should be cool for them to play against eachother now that they're DI players.
Mike Rembert has been battling some injuries and has only played in 5 of SEMO's 7 games so far, starting two of them.
His minutes have been limited and he hasn't gotten off to a very good start, averaging only 3.6ppg, 1.6 rpg.
One thing noticable, is that SEMO is very turnover prone...averaging almost 20 per game, and giving up 81.3 points per game.
Bogan is a big, big boy. He has surprisingly good hands & good touch on his shot too. He's a solid player. Not that quick though, which is understandable for a guy his size. If he were a step or 2 quicker, he would really create a lot of problems for people. They have some pretty good quickness on the perimeter, but they weren't that disciplined...at least not that much when we played them, but maybe they have improved a bit since then, who knows. Overall SEMO plays scrappy and they do have some good athletes, but I dont think you guys will have any problems with getting a W.
So Bogan (currently) does NOT = Bud Ely when he and SEMO came to town back then. (I recall Ely had a lackluster performance and fouled out... which then our prize-recruit/freshman Milo Kirsch saluted him bye-bye and got T'd up... eeesh)
Coming off Wednesday's 64-47 win at Loyola Chicago, the Bradley men's basketball team returns home to start a brief, two-game homestand Saturday night against Southeast Missouri State (4-3) at Carver Arena.? The Braves (5-2) will be trying to extend a 28-game non-conference home winning streak, which is now tied for the fifth-longest such streak in the nation.? Flippenout, an extreme trampoline performance team made up of former Olympic gymnasts, will perform at halftime Saturday night.
The Southeast Missouri State men's basketball team will wrap up its Missouri Valley Conference tour tonight with a game at Bradley. Southeast also will complete its magical, mystery bus tour that, in the past 10 days, has seen the Redhawks log plenty of miles...
Man the roads are absolutely treachorous out there. Almost 10 rollover accidents just in the Peoria area within the last hour, thats not including all the ones in Bloomington and everywhere else. I hope SE MO State wasn't doing there traveling this morning, they'll never make it here on time or at least not early enough to do shootaround and pre-game stuff. Plus they have extended the freezing rain time to almost 8 or 9pm, it was early evening around 4-5pm. This isn't good.
SEMO traveled on Friday. I would not expect too much of a crowd at all, which is too bad for a Saturday night game.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
The Bradley men's basketball, women's basketball and soccer teams all will be in action this evening.? If you are unable to attend any of the games, let this article serve as your guide to following all of the action on the internet.
