  • Iowa State's Lucca Staiger Loses Entire Season

NCAA has reinstated Staiger...but just like his teammate at Decatur Christian, Beas Hamga....
Lucca must sit out this season and be eligible next year.
He loses the whole year of eligibility and has only three years remaining.

But he loses a year of eligibility?

So if he was found to be innocent, why lose a year? Or was he guilty?

    I'm so confused.

Yes, he does lose this whole year, and it was on the basis of playing on a team with professionals, something that is clearly prohibited by the NCAA.
You can debate it all you want, but it is the NCAA's rule.

Clearly prohibited, but rarely enforced. Texas' Dougas Balbay, Baylor's Mammadou Diene, Nebraska's Alecs Maric and Baylor's Aaron Bruce to name a few in the Big 12 alone all broke the same rule and have had no penalties waged against them.
