  • Hey Bradley Fans...

    Hello everyone.

Looks like a nice board you all have here. I've been reading some of the posts here tonight and you all seem like a very high basketball IQ bunch of fans. You guys seem like you have an excellent fanbase.

I live in Champaign, and am a Michigan State fan (whole family went there) and will be making the trip up for the game in early December.

What are some things I should expect? We found what looks to be decent seats, in the lower bowl in section 9.

    How is parking? Any advice?

I'm really looking forward to the game and what will be a big test on the road for our club. Take my word for it, we will not be taking Bradley lightly. We know that your kids have built a good basketball program and I'm sure your arena will be rocking on the 4th.

    Best of luck guys!

Section 9 is in the uppper bowl but not very high up even at the top. This game is going to be a sell out and parking will not be as easy as usual. Expect to pay at least 5 bucks to park at one of the lots nearby.
    Can we start winning soon?

I've looked at several seating charts and it's the section 9 in the lower bowl. I bought the tickets from TicketMaster and it said the lower bowl.

I think it's already a near sell-out. I was unable to get 2 tickets together through ticketmaster anywhere in the arena. (But found 2 single tickets in the same section 1 row apart...what are the chances? )

      Thanks for the heads up.

Bradley is one of the few venues in the country that sells alcohol, so prepare to enjoy $5.50 20 oz. beers. Win or lose, it makes the experience much more enjoyable.

Fans will be friendly, and probably a lot older than you're used to at Michigan St games. A lot of old, gray folks who remember BU's Final Four years back in the 50's. The fan base is getting younger, but still is an older one.
        Onward and Upward!

Thanks for the confirmation on the alcohol. I had already gotten wind it was sold at the games.

From the quick glance at this board, I'm not expecting any problems from your fans. I'm sure it won't be any worse than when I go to the Assembly Hall in Champaign to watch MSU.

          Thanks

I would say the chances of any type of 'incidents' are slim and none. Peoria is a very friendly midwestern town, and it's exemplified by BU's crowds. It's a very family-oriented atmosphere. Almost so much so that some of us more boisterous fans get annoyed from time to time on just how 'quiet' the place can get. Don't get me wrong, the crowds can and will get into the game if it's close, but it's more like a crowd at a pro game than a college game.

Yea... sounds like your seats will be (safely) far enough away fom DogsRUs... he almost got into a rumble with Larry Eustachy, head coach of S Miss's team last year.

After what Larry did at Iowa State, I'd say he deserves some heckling.

Plenty of parking at the 2 decks across the street from the Civic Center. I believe they are $5. You can always arrive at like 6pm and find a spot on the street somewhere downtown. It's free parking after 5:30 at the meters. Since your coming in from out of town, you could park on Liberty about 6pm, walk to Hooters for dinner and be back in plenty of time for the game. Hooters is roughly half a mile from Liberty St. Theres also Sullys Pub that has great food on Adams just behind the first parking deck you come to on Jefferson. Civic Center will be majorly packed, it's going to be one hopping place. 11,000 plus will be in attendance.

If you are going to park on Liberty, you could go to the Liberty Pub. It is right across from the Civic Center and they have good food and cheap beer before the bradley games.

My season tickets are in section 9 lower bowl. You'll have a student section to the side of you and above you.

One of the nice things about a downtown arena is that you can eat & drink before and after the game without moving your car. Plenty of different restaurants and pubs near the Civic Center.

My friends from out of town haven't had problems with parking when they've made the trip to Carver Arena.

Section 9 is lower bowl, just to the left of the student section / band. Hopefully for your sake, you're not in row B or C, because with all of the students standing, you might have a slightly obstructed view. If you're a few rows higher, those are great seats as I've sat in them many times. Other than missing a tiny section of the corner on the far side of the court, you should be able to see every one of Bradley's three pointers well!

Sparticus, Braadley Fan is right we do have an older crowd, after all we barely have 5000 students and the majority don't go to the games. Yet we average near 10,000 fans per game. Hope you don't fall asleep during one of our goofy promotions. You might even get to hear our fight song a couple times.

Expect a beat down! The student section will be plently loud on Dec. 4th.
