Despite being a down year, and some bad losses, the MVC is currently ranked #5 among the Division I conferences--
Yes, I know it's early to be putting much credence in the RPI numbers, but the MVC is ahead of the Big Ten, the SEC, and the Atlantic 10. The Horizon League is also a surprise, so far. They are the #6 ranked conference.
MVC--
Note that the powerful Conference USA is ranked the #15 ranked conference. They have 2 teams- East Carolina #338 and SMU #339- in the bottom 4 teams in the country in RPI, and another team, Tulsa is #295.
