Group report from SP. BU with a gutty comeback. Will not blame this on refs as Vandy is good. Killer was Wilson with three questionable first half calls that had him sitting. We all saw his impact in the second half. This guy wants a rebound and he won't be denied. He is a smooooooth Boogie. Horrible intentional foul on Warren with BU coming back....the ref was ripped by everyone there. Dogs....

OB74 here.....I'll let DRU and the others do my commentary.....I have NO voice left (literally)!!

Dallas Brave here ... Vandy won the game, but BU did not walk out of the arena as losers. BU' second half effort was admired by everyone at the game, regardless of school affiliation. It reminded me of when the team two years ago discovered their internal fortitude. The Bradley fans that made the trip were great as well. We outcheered the Iowa fans last night and dominated the Vandy fans tonight.

#32 for Vandy was a ton, they made most of their MANY Fts, BU offense hit a dry spell in the 1st half. The defense was not good, but Vandy is good and extremely well coached. A win against a B10 team and a game that shows the team can comeback from way down against a good opponent, a good trip. The newbies are growing. Let's go to Loyola and get a win! b12.

Houstonbrave-This is a different team with Theron on the court. His fouls early put us in too large a hole. We should learn a lot from this comeback. Gutsy comeback.

The problem is the reality is not matching the expectations most people had prior to the season.

To be specific, a lot was expected out of Crouch and Salley. Crouch has done it at times, but has not given the consistency we need. As for Salley, for all the talk and buzz about him really bearing down and getting better because there was going to be competition for his minutes, he doesn't look one iota better than last year. If you buy into the "JuCo's need time to acclimate to D-1" argument, you absolutely need to have good production from Crouch and Salley ASAFP.

The NCAA needs to investigate this ref team. Who the hell gives a coach a technical after the first few minutes of the game. Then that one in a million flagrant call at the end, that just wasn't right. Refs had our number from the beginning for some reason. Season certainly isn't over with, have plenty of time to make some noise, especially if the turnovers are trimmed down a little.

My question for the guys at the Vandy game. How questionable was the intentional/flagrant call at the end. Snell said it was bad, but what exactly happened? Did we just grab the guy or what, as there was still plenty of time on the clock.

From what I saw, the Vandy guard started downcourt with an outlet pass, and would have had a breakaway layup, except Andrew hacked at him with his arm to stop the breakaway and stop the clock. There is no question he fouled him intentionally, but it was no different than thousands of similar fouls made by players on trailing teams to stop the clock late in games.
So technically, it was done intentionally, and the call could have been made. But you just never see that call by refs, because they know the team that's behind needs to do it, and the call is so punitive that in effect, it closes out any chance the losing team has to catch up.

All I ask.... If they are gonna call it, then call it all the time.

Don't forget that another point of emphasis (like the carrying) is foul language from the bench. Ol' Jimmy might've gotten caught up in this one...

Da Coach was a few rows closer than I was but it sure did not look like we was tossing any foul language at the ref. He was there with his arms folded talking to him. He was making a point but I have seen him a lot more animated than that. I could not hear the conversation but I was shocked at the call.

As long as the foul wasnt flagrant, than the official should have called the normal foul. per my post on the game thread last Saturday, GOOD OFFICIALS do not make calls that flat out determine the game. They (officials) let the teams determine the outcome on the court.
