Enjoy the stay gang. It's actually common for flights to be overbooked. The airlines want to be sure that every flight is full. I used to watch that airline show on The Learning Channel and "asking" for volunteers to choose the next flight was on almost every show. If no one volunteered, one or more of them were forced off. Also if y'all missed it, it was actually flurrying during most of the Cowboys game that started about 3pm. Very rare snow day for Dallas in late November.

We are hoping the weather is a bit better today.
We drove around the island last night and had a Thankgiving dinner at one of the restaurants.

Padre Island is actually the name of this island, and according to Wikipedia, it is the worlds longest barrier island! It is 130 miles long and only a few hunder yards wide for most of it's length. From the airplane, we could see it has a beautiful white sand beach on the gulf side for it's entire length.
        Here is more info.--

Only the couple mile stretch of the island at the southern tip is populated.
As we flew into Brownsville, we followed the coast and could see the entire length of the island. It is a long, thin island that runs north and south along the south tip of Texas. 98% of the island is uninhabited and much of the northern end does not look accessable by roads. Most of the center of the island is a wildlife preserve.

The resort area is nice, but there are not a lot of people here at this time of the year. There are a large number of condos and hotels at the south end where the causeway crosses over to the island. The Civic Center is at the north end of the resort area a mile or 2 from the hotel.

So much for the geography lesson!

Here is a site that has live beach-cam and surf-cam views. It is still a little blustery today--

Will have to remember this link in March - especially if they add a "Babe Cam" to go along with the BeachCam.

Wow - too bad for DRU. I wouldn't play golf in that crap. It looks like a drunk-front is moving in (not a cold-front) for DRU and Co.

Been around a bit too long to let a little rain get me down...besides a little seniorita told me today "we need the rain"...so good for Texas. We are having a good time and will adapt to what mother nature decides.

                  Dos Equis XX anyone........

There is absolutely no way to play golf in this stuff. So, I think the only real alternative is to go watch the other games....

Another item. There is a little local free paper with a few short meaningless articles on the tourney. It turns out they printed the section on Vanderbilt twice-guess who they left out-Bradley. I am not sure if I should be insulted or if it just shows they are sloppy. I think it just means they are sloppy but still..

Hope to file a better and more interesting report later.

We picked up several copies of that rag. I showed them to Bobby Parker.

We need help...send money or fresh food. Day 3 for fried food only. My cholestrol has risen 75 points in less than 48 hours. Just left the Irish Texan bar with the bartender named Wango....no joke.....got OB a WHATABURGER and giving him a bar a soap so he can get cleaned up in the Gulf water due to low H2O pressure in the condo.

Haven't seen Braves12 or Dallas Brave since they started smoking the pre victory cigars.

Thank god I'm here as I'm the only one still in control. Houstonbrave won't even hang out with us anymore and left for his hotel room hours ago.

                            We need help...soon...anyone........Please

I think the weather is improving, the temperature rose above 50 degrees and it stopped raining. I think I'll go for a dip in the Gulf.

On second thought, it's time to head over for the game.

I was only able to catch the last three minutes of the first half (at http://www.channelsurfing.net/watch-cstv.html) because my family was having dinner. Great buzzer-beater 3 at the end of the first half by Andrew Warren, though!!!

BTW, I can't believe they are having a tournament in this place. It looks more like a small high school gym than a college arena!

                                (Score is 37-30, Bradley leading)
