BU now has 1498 wins all time (although I have evidence that some of the win counts from the early years of the 20th century are inaccurate)
and this is good enough for 26th best of all time.

FGCU is in the Atlantic Sun Conference, and those guys (Gardner Webb, Mercer, Belmont) have beaten up on a couple top teams (Mercer won at USC, Gardner Webb won at Kentucky, and Belmont won at Alabama.)

BU also has some video on their website....
PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley senior point guard Daniel Ruffin (Peoria, Ill./Central H.S.) scored all of his team-high 16 points in the second half and forwards Matt Salley (Charlotte, N.C./North Mecklenburg H.S.) and Theron Wilson (Topeka, Kan./Highland Park H.S.) made two key plays down the stretch, helping the Braves (3-1) fight off Florida Gulf Coast (1-3) for their 28th consecutive non-conference home win in the second round of the South Padre Island Invitational Tuesday night at Carver Arena.Bradley senior point guard scored all of his team-high 16 points in the second half and forwards and made two key plays down the stretch, helping the Braves (3-1) fight off Florida Gulf Coast (1-3) for their 28th consecutive non-conference home win in the second round of the South Padre Island Invitational Tuesday night at Carver Arena.

Lack of production from the 2 spot is a problem in this system. We must get 25 to 30 points out of that spot every game.

I did not recognize any of them.

        Ex-BU players at the game:
Zach Andrews was right behind the bench. So was Gus Mason, and also Marcello Robinson.
I also sat with Dr. Rick Harris, one of Jim Molinari's first recruits in 1992, from Grand Rapids.
He is now a practicing physician in the area, and has a bunch of kids who all play soccer, not basketball!

Who is the white kid sitting on the bench? He's been to the last two games. Is it Jordan Prosser (sp?)?

Also, introduce me to Dr Harris sometime. I, too, am a USF grad and keep in touch with their coach.

First chance to read these coments about the game last night. Everyone mentins the turnovers by DR & JC burt the floor did make a difference. On at least 3 different occasions JC lost the ball on the dribble and it had very little if anything to do w/ the defense of the other team. It was caused by the slippery ball that was getting wet all the time. If I was a gambling man I would bet that you will not see another game all year that JC has 6 turnovers or DR and JC have 10 together. I am not ripping on the other teams D as it was very strong but when you start 4 players as tall or taller then our tallest starter life does become more difficult when you try to shoot.
As for DC playing more it is pretty obvious that his D isn't there yet and neither are his hands. Yes he is big and cleans up the middle which given time will probably earn him more minutes. Egolf is pretty much the same although he has much better hands then DC. Egolf can throw down a dunk like no one we have had here for as long as I remember. He really rattles the backboard and excites all the old people that are sleeping at courtside. What a waste of space for a home team. Egolf could end up starting before the year is over and diffenitely will be a big time contributer this year and hopefully for 3 more after this one. Maybe the most talented player overall that we have had in a number of years. He will be alright.
As for the D we need CB and not EB to do that teaching. That is all I have to say about the D and I don't think I will get many people disagreeing w/ me.

Have a great Thanksgiving and everyone that is going to Texas for the tournament bring home a trophy

            Mike....
I looked for you since I knew you were a USF grad, but didn't see you last night.
I am going to have Rick come with me again to a ball game some time soon, as he and his son really had a great time last night.
Dr. Harris' son plays on the same soccer team that I coach with one of my own kids, but I have known him since he moved back to Peoria a few years ago to begin practice.
Up until last night Rick had never been back to a BU basketball game since he left Bradley well over a decade ago.
And let me tell you, he had a great time from what he expressed.
It brought back great memories, and he was hoping to catch sight of Chad Kleine or one of his old teammates, but never did.
I am sure he'll be back to more games, and when I have an extra ticket, I will probably get him to go with me again, so I will let you know.

PS--- the only kid in street clothes on the bench was Ryan Thornton, as even Anthony Thompson dresses
and goes through all the warmups. Is that who you are referring to?

We moved 5 rows back and 5 seats closer to the center from our old seats. My knees just could not take the temp seats any longer.

Yeah, it was Thornton I saw. Have Dr Harris go to a women's game as Chad goes to most of them doing a promotion for his insurance company.

Basketball nut, if there wasn't so much silence during timeouts, the old timers who have kept this program going for probably longer than most students have been alive, might not be able to sleep. It's too bad that for the first 15 seconds of a timeout all you hear is the PA announcer's voice and then we have to watch a goofy trivia question or some goofy promotion. Then we can cheer again. Like someone told me last night, if you didn't want to watch a basketball game, you could come to a Bradley game and be entertained by everything but basketball. Too many people think we are there to watch or listen to them than for the ball game.

FWIW, Chad was there last night...He sits a few rows up from me in Section 10...

I agree but guess which one pays the bills.
Basketball doesn't build character it reveals it.

If we are that hard up that we have to have those types of promotions, that take the crowds out of the game, to pay the bills maybe we should raise ticket prices or get out of Div 1 basketball. I've seen games all over the country, not involving Bradley, and I've never seen such crowd quieting promotions as I've seen here the last few years.

I don't know the answer, but I wish there was a way to do all the PA and commercial stuff at halftime. I know that somebody has to pay the bills. I would like to try to take 2 years and see what can be done to get the atmosphere so good that sell outs happen every game. Maybe then the basketball tickets and revenues from maintenance could pay for everything. The atmosphere isn't close to what it could be. I hope the Par A Dice is paying millions for that silly promotion they have run. Last night 2 letters didn't count because they did not get past the free throw line so the people got travel mugs. By the time this whole promotion is completed, there can hardly be any fans still standing ready to get excited. What a snoozer. It is all about money and not about how to make the atmosphere to where it is a huge advantage for BU. Sad. I miss the days of the noise level at the hangars. It was what made me as a 4 year old kid fall in love with Bradley basketball. It wasn't the basketball, because I am sure I didn't understand it. It was the atmosphere. The noise level was amazing, and a timeout just made the crowd get louder. Now a timeout is like sombody hits the mute button. Shame.
                          "Let's make some noise".

braves12, it used to be that way at Carver until the last few years. And you are right, shame. It is awful boring anymore. Instead of "lets make some noise", it should be "let us make some noise".

I agree completely, and am very disappointed to say so. I was much happier with the O, and even the D when Sam was running the team. DRuff had a few HUGE baskets, but Sam had us working much better as a team and I thought he showed he was mature beyond his age when there were two seconds left in the half and he made the extra pass to AW because he had a better shot, and was confident he had time and didn't hesitate. I think Sam will be great managing the O for us going forward. That being said I hope DRuff outplays him every game this season(if not Sam is either much better than anyone thought, or DRuff is having a poor season).
