I know we all see the same things differently, but I thought MS had a big game defensively for BU. I know he took a few bad shots inside. Coach Les commented a little about it after the game. I think it will get cleaned up. We really need his defense right now. It is my opinion but Egolf, Singh and Collins are no where close to MS in defense. Singh is not quick enough, Collins is still learning and Egolf is still learning. Collins and Egolf will be good, but they don't come close to doing what MS does defensively. They also haven't learned to play with the intensity required at this level yet.

Wilson needs a lot of work defensively. Yes he is quick and jumps well, but his fundamentals are missing.

I am not worried about the offense, it will come...even TCS will be fine. This team needs to get much better at defense, blocking out for rebounds, playing with intensity and taking care of the ball.

I think Les is playing a lot of people because he needs players to be ready for the conference. It will cause some losses I'm afraid, but it is probably required.

Kudos to #4 of the other team. He was taking the game over and BU had nobody to handle him. Nobody has said this, but in my opinion if he and Wilson would not have gotten the double Ts which resulted in his 4th foul and made him sit for many minutes at a crucial time when he owned the court, this probably would have been a loss. He wanted the game more than anybody on the floor tonight.

It is a win. Learn, practice, improve and move on.

Agreed on MS, braves12. I thought MS played a very good defensive game. Their #4 played well, though I also thought he travelled a lot on his post moves and didn't get called on it... Either way, he gave us fits. I think we may have defended him better if we had a better matchup (a big), since I think he was being defended by guards much of the night.

Did anyone notice their #5? The guy with the longish hair and a beard.. played PG for them quite a bit. Anyway, he was stamping his foot and squeaking his shoes while at the side of the paint during free-throws... is that allowed? It seems like the kind of thing that is at best kind of dirty pool and at worst maybe more of a technical.

2 more things to throw out there.

Ruff would drive and get picked up by some other players and it seemed like our other players did not know where to move to for Ruff to dish them the ball for a good shot.
I think the other players need to stop watching and start getting to the right spots. Ruff would have to eventually throw up a bad shot.

The Eagles were making sure they were out on all of our shooters. It seemed like the BU players had never seen a backcut to get a layup or open shot. They sure pushed BUs offense way out on the floor. They also took away the screen and roll play to Salley in the 2nd half or BU never looked of rit.

            Growing pains!

Lol we started off calling him Caveman. Then my brother started calling him "Prince Valiant" but we finally settled on Cavedogg and/or Cavedawg.

Bottom line, we beat a tough-minded team. Nobody's gonna say Purdue stinks because they only beat Lipscomb by 4, or that Oregon stinks because they LOST to St. Mary's tonight. FGC is nothing like UMES . . . they are a talented, tough team. Kudos to them for making it interesting, and kudos to BU for winning anyway.

                  ON TO beat the Hawkeyes!!

Its not a matter of who we played, its a matter of how. Passes into the back of DC, passes out of bounds, numerous turnovers.....

                    Our defense was better though.
