Exactly. Obviously, I'd love it if everyone had a painted-face and was going crazy, but some people just won't do that, no matter what. I think we should look at those people as a good thing that they are there to fill up the section and clap whenever they clap, other then that, there's no need to yell or berate them for not being as vocal as the rest of us.

i think there's a difference between yelling at them and encouraging them. the latter is the better choice. i'd love for everyone to be roudy and crazy but for some people it takes some pushing. i think it's necessary to push and encourage but not get mad at them for not going crazy.

If people just want to watch the game without yelling, cheering, or clapping, there are student seats in the upper bowl and the games are on tv. How good we are as a section partly depends on getting the people who have just been sitting there to go crazy.

Exactly, anytime we're saying stuff to other students we should be trying to encourage the and get them on the same page, not yelling at them. I know I've been able to get people excited by telling them how much fun it is to get into the game and help the team out, and using the same approach will hopefully garner some more die hard BU fans over the season.

BTW I've been researching FGC, anyone else found anything?

FYI--Those big heads were produced by the athletic department and cost about $60 a piece--not cheap--so a hundred would be a little much. A "Glasser Head" was made as well and ready to be used but before the game she said it didn't make her look good so the athletic department couldn't pass it out.

I'm sure some alums or fans would be willing to donate a little bit to make some new heads. At least, I would. Maybe we could do a collection and have like a vote for the next heads to be made? Of course, we'd have to validate the money gets to the athletic department or whatever.

just putting my quick two cents in...I sit in the student section as well. I believe the hardest part is trying to keep both sides of the student section in on the action due to the split because of the band. The problem is we have the cheerleaders on one side starting the typical old chants, and then we have you guys (you guys are great) starting other more fun chants. However, like the others, lets find a more meaningful time for the "This is Bradley." I think a great time for it is after a run when we force the other team to call a timeout to settle the crowd down.

Just do anything you can to keep the crowd from settling down. Encourage the band to play the fight song everytime the other team is forced to call a time out.

You mean someone beat my mark that I tried to post up from the last exhibition game at the fieldhouse? I didnt even want to make the lay-up and was disappointed when I let the one fall through. I just didnt embellish enough to really be funny with my free throws, should have thrown up a couple backwards(facing away from the hoop) or something.

Suggestions noted, and I talked to the cheer coach and we now have cheerleaders on both sides, which is a huge score.

When the refs are making horrible calls like they have been, the students can begin to chant the tune "3 blind mice, 3 blind mice, see how they run........" Instead of the boring old booo, or bull **** that is given most of the time.

We could try one that Duke does,and change "Lets go Duke" to "lets go Braves," clapping on "lets" and "go", and putting a fist in the air on "Braves".

that's why me and some buddies started the "this is Bradley"
its fun and i haven't heard people do it (outside of quoting 300)

in hindsight I agree that "this is BU" was used too much. So we'll cut it down.
prolly when the guys return from a time out.
