    Dont get too concerned...

I wouldnt worry about that too much, Stonybrook was 9 - 20 last year.

Well, make this 2 out of our first 3 games that I really don't like. Starting on the road at a school like UIC is something we should NEVER do, and playing a team that annually finishes with a 300+ RPI is something we should never do either. Now, I realize that this is part of the tournament that gives us Iowa and either Vanderbilt or Utah St, but this team will likely be worse than Quincy and St. Ambrose. Florida Gulf Coast isn't much better.

Don't get me wrong, I think we need cupcakes early on with this group to work out the kinks, but I didn't want teams this bad. There are plenty of mid and even high majors in the 150-200 range that would serve the purpose MDES and FGC are. I don't think playing Quincy and St. Ambrose did much for us (they're exhibitions, so I don't expect much), but UIC and Iowa St did. I'm afraid that MDES and FGC are so bad that we may regress instead of progress. Hope I am wrong, because I REALLY want to beat Iowa next Friday.

I agree with the sentiment. I don't want to play these guys because in the end a win will still probably hurt our RPI, but at the same time, it gives access to 2 sold programs, as you said, and I think it is worth it to have the opportunity to get a couple of 'Marquee' wins that are now all-important since mid-majors have good RPI's nowadays and because of that it doesn't mean much.

A crappy team is probably what Bradley needs right now. A good tune up game to get this offense flowing and to get the new guys used to shooting. Get our guys some confidence out there.

But this game is part of the South Padre Tournament, so we didn't technically schedule this one.
We probably had no idea who we would get when we committed, although we likely knew we'd be getting one of the lesser teams in Peoria.

I know, I just wish maybe the tournament could have found better fodder than these teams. At least Florida A & M was decent last year, and UIC was from a respectable mid-major conference. My gripe with the roadie at UIC (and 4 Horizon roadies overall), but what's done is done. Just win baby!

Agree . . . I'd be worried about it in other years, but not when we're trying to get so many new guys acclimated. In fact I think it's a relief . . . get some more time to develop and pile up a couple W's at the same time.

.....and hopefully get Austin some game-action!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

My apologies if this has been discussed at length before, but I have this feeling that Austin will be a redshirt.... Especially with the emergence of Sam Singh.

I would think we'll know after Sunday's game. Just hate to see two "bigs" redshirting together. Hopefully everyone else can stay healthy! At the same time, I have no idea how the minutes would be distributed since we seem to have a hard time finding much time for Collins.

We can always 'unredshirt' the guy if we need him and/or he makes some strides. A shorter bench might be a good thing for JL, and another year of eligibility for RA might be a great thing for him and the program.

It would also give us inside depth down the road which would help in developing AT.

I'd personally like Austin to come along enough to play this year so that he and Salley could rotate in and out at the 4, with Singh and Collins dividing the time at the 5.
