  • BU soccer player named MVC POY..........

This is a great news for the school, team and well as Donoho! Congrats!

OMAHA, Neb. -- Bradley senior sweeper Joe Donoho (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit H.S.) today was named the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, becoming the first Brave to claim the league's top honor in the 17-year history of The Valley's sponsorship of men's soccer.??Having secured a share of their third straight Valley regular-season crown, the Braves collected plenty of hardware during the State Farm MVC Tournament banquet Thursday night at Creighton's Morrison Stadium.? Based on a vote of the league's seven coaches, eight Bradley players were recognized during the banquet.? Donoho was joined on the 11-player All-MVC first team by senior midfielder Drew DeGurian (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley H.S.), while senior goalkeeper Mike Haynes (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap H.S.) and senior defender Stephen Brust (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey H.S.) earned second-team notice.? Senior defender Teddy Anderson (Clearwater, Fla./Central Catholic H.S.) and sophomore midfielder Grant Campbell (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) both earned honorable mention notice, while midfielders Rudy Garcia (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) and Paul Tracy (Naperville, Ill./Waubonsie Valley H.S.) both landed on the All-Freshman Team.

Soccer may not be a revenue sport, but Bradley needs to do whatever they can to keep Jim DeRose happy. He is the model of how to run a successful college athletic program. Great job Braves!
    Onward and Upward!

I agree BradleyBrave. Jim DeRose is a great recruiter and coach and love what he is doing for the BU program.

The only thing I want to ring home that may sound bad against the soccer program is.... Bradley is NOT a soccer school and the MVC is NOT a soccer conference.

Those comments are not directed at you BB. I just know a few people in Peoria who kinda stuck a fork in me a couple years ago saying (Bradley and) the MVC has really become a soccer conference.

IMO - the MVC (and Bradley) is a basketball conference.

But anyway... Bradley should do what they can to keep Jim DeRose on the Hilltop.

That being said the Braves with even a solid showing in the MVC tournament are likely NCAA bound, so the MVC/Bradley can't be doing that bad. They do go more often than our BBall team...

Congratulations to Joe Donaho, the first Bradley Brave to be POY, and also congrats to Drew DeGurian, Mike Haynes, Stephen Brust, Teddy Anderson, Grant Campbell, Rudy Garcia, Paul Tracy, and the coaching staff for the honors they received as well.
I think it is unfortunate that such a fine player as Chris Cutshaw was left off the honor roll, but the fans recognize his talents and contributions and also those of the rest of the team!
