Please do not add them. Just stipulate a minimum number of minutes. We don't need to skew the results. BTW, I love it when the walk-ons can contribute.

collins has some good production when he's out there, but he also picks up a lot of fouls, and even worse, turns the ball over waaaaaay too much.

How does Collins not lead the Turnover department, 7 TO's today Egaddddsss LOL. He's a force otherwide, 14 points and 10 boards on only 3 shots taken. Can't wait for him to be a full time player.

Hey, cut the kid some slack....
David Collins had a game that a lot of college kids can only dream of......10 pts, 14 rebounds.....IN JUST 18 MINUTES OF PLAY!
and a good defensive effort as well.
I doubt the seven turnovers are legit, as at least two of them were very tough passes that could well have been TO's on the guy making the pass, and a couple more were on plays where DC went for tough rebounds and loose balls, then lost the wrestling match with one of the opponents, so he was credited with a TO.

because he arranged it by least amount of turnovers.

I'm not knocking DC for his TO's as I mentioned in the gameday thread that most of his TO's today were lazy passes after getting a rebound. Those are easily preventable, he has incredible talent for our needs that brings back POB memories.

I thought about showing the most turnovers, but do not feel like showing the negatives. If that were the case, then I'd show who scores the least amount of points for their time on the floor, etc.

I thought it was in the best interest of everyone if I stuck with the positives here.

David Collins is the 4th leading scorer, and leading rebounder on the team, despite playing only 12.8 mpg. The numbers per 40 minutes are even more telling. What in the heck does this guy have to do to play? Jim is constantly singing his praises, yet continues to slight him on minutes. DC not playing is hurting this team.

Collins has picked up up some silly and untimely fouls, so the coach has probably used that in judging playing time.

To me it was the lazy outlet pass turnovers (man that's a lot of adjectives) which he cleaned up nicely last game. He was noticeably more aware of where everyone was and his passes were on the mark. I think Matt Salley's great game may have limited his minutes as it did Sam Singh's.

Turnovers and fouls are keeping him out right now. I do think he will get more time as the season progresses. Right now we have only one loss....would the UIC game have been different had he got more minutes...I dunno.

JL is bringing him along slowly...granted to slow for some but I gotta trust JL on this.

The NEXT step in Collins progression is a mean streak. He still rebounds and is soft with the ball. Grab it and either keep it up high or pull it down and smother it. Theron Wilson does this quite well.....he skys for the ball and when he hits the floor you'd have to use a pry bar to get it released.

Why should Matt Salley's play have anything to do with David Collins? Why can't we have them both on the floor at the same time, especially when our guards are throwing the ball all over the gymnasium?

Agreed. And I think Egolf goes up strong/long for a rebound and brings it down strong.

It is so early... I take the bad with the good.... I love what I see along with love the potential.

I hope/think everyone will continue to gel and get better.

I'd rather win a war than a battle... ie, do well over the season and into postseason than win a certain game or two. (beating Mich St but finishing 10-20 on the season would be a disappointment to me)
