  • Bradley Wins 65-56 over Iowa State

Glad to have a "W." I thought the defense played pretty well, and hopefully, the new guys are more relaxed now with a win. Some of them looked more comfortable with this game.

David Collins with the little time he was in looked great. I think Theron Wilson has become my favorite player among the new guys. He goes after those rebounds and he knocked down some nice shots for us amazingly.

Yes, this was a great win for Bradley to prevent them from starting in an 0-2 hole. No matter how good or bad Iowa St is, this will still be a quality win for a team that has a good shot to be in the running for an NCAA Tournament bid.

I think a lot of people have already forgotten the UIC loss already!

Good win. I agree and I thought Collins looked great in limited time. Still a little timid but I think he'll thrive in the valley. I thought the defense improved greatly from the last few games. The low point for me was the 3 point percentage. It is ugly. Hopefully it'll get better as the season progresses.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Nice win. Bradley beats the #2 RPI ranked team in the country!
Bradley did not play the best game offensively, but their defense was very good. The new guys are contributing a little more every game.

Some people were worried because of how easy the exhibition opponents scored on us, but Iowa State has some nice players, and Bradley shut them down pretty well. I'm not saying ISU will be the class of the Big 12, but they won't be the worst team, either.

NIce win.. newer guys worked in nicely- Sam Singh played well again....

Crowd was 9500 max I would say, despite what the listed attendance said...
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Looks like Ruffin was our leading rebounder, for that matter he was our leading everything except assists it looks like. Crouch had 5 to ruffin's 4.
                Charge On Charge On Bradley!

I actually thought it was pretty close to the announced attendance.

As for the game, it was good to see some D tonight -- and fewer whistles.

Ruffin would have had many more assists, except he laid a bunch of beautiful passes right into the hands of Salley, Collins, and Singh that lead to layups that were missed.

The refs for the most part were pretty good and there was a resulting good game flow. They did blow two obvious calls, one for each team. The one against us was the kicking call that on replay should have resulted in a turnover for us as it was nowhere near the shoe unless our player had a shoe on his hand. The one in our favor was the travel call when their player fell but never stopped dribbling the ball. In each case the coach voiced his displeasure.

It was good to see Wilson make two threes. He is reluctant to shoot and he has to overcome that as the other team must be forced to guard everyone. This is especially true when they are concentrating so much on JC. We can??™t allow teams to cheat on defense.

I wish David Collins would dunk with authority. He is so athletic and I feel must be more assertive. He looks really good to me and I expect big things from him.

The little deal with the double foul was a long time coming. Jiri Hubalek kept setting a screen out high and instead of rolling to the basket would roll back and push Salley. The refs should have called a moving screen on him much earlier in the game and it would not have happened. They shook hands after the game.

It was nice to see W Egolf make the steal and go the length of the court. He certainly wasn??™t hesitant about throwing it down with conviction. On the subject of Will I talked to his brother before the game. He said he and his girlfriend moved here two weeks ago.

I thought Charles Boozer looked like Carlos Boozer. I guess I was right as he is Carlos??™ younger brother.

In fairness to the bigs coach, they didn't seem all that easy to catch...in traffic and low...I think those guys can know it's coming but not always sure how....it will get better as year goes probably

Wow.......what a fun game.....nice to see the D' come back....and the new guys are starting to get it........not too many teams in the Valley will be as big as isu so it was a good test....DC looked better, WE looked more confident, and hey..whats with TW hitting 2-2 from 3 pt land?
I feel a lot better after tonights game that they played like a team and JL played mostly vets with the exception being TW for most of the minutes and the subs for DR getting his needed breaks played a big roll! Can't wait for TCS to start nailing the 3's to take some heat off JC..........Congrats to AW on a fine game!

Iowa State also has juco transfer Sean Haluska, the brother of former Iowa guard Adam Haluska, on the team.
