Yes...but the last time I checked, Matt Salley was not one of them. In fact, I think I remember hearing he has been the best player in practice.
Don't get me wrong, I'm in no means saying the season is over after one game. But if the team doesn't get it together over these next three games, then they're in big trouble when they start playing the good teams on the schedule.

Once again, we are talking about just one game! You're going to change your prediction just based on what happened tonight? Let's wait and see where we are by the time we head over to South Padre.
I can just see the posts on here after we wipe the floor with Maryland-Eastern Shore and the mighty Florida Gulf Coast. Everyone will be crowning us a Final Four contender if we win our next three games! Talk about going overboard in the other direction, but I know that's what is going to happen!

I kind of doubt it. We get more down about losses than up about wins IMO.
Florida Gulf who? Maryland East what?
I'm probably the first person back who was in attendance at the game.
Flat out, I've seen hundreds of basketball games. That was the worst officiated game I've ever seen. Plenty of phantom calls, the Wilson charge, many of the moving screen calls, never calling a charge on them, I could go on all night. I hate to blame the refs, but they flat out stunk.
That being said, with as PATHETIC as they were, we still had a chance down the stretch if we could have hit a few shots. Our shooting was really subpar tonight and it cost us a really rough loss.
Salley, Wilson and Cole-Scott were absolutely invisible and did nothing to help the team tonight.
On the bright side, the best player on the court was Sam Singh. WOW has he improved. His fake pass and drop step to the basket for a layup was a thing of beauty.
Crouch's shot was short again early but he corrected that eventually. Unfortunately, they were like glue on him all night and he didn't get many looks.
We're seeing signs of how good Collins can be and as critical as many Bradley fans have been of him, I also like Sam Maniscalco a lot. He's tenacious and when he learns he doesn't have to be right on every guy he guards then he won't get burned on back door layups so much.
Sadly, this is a game we should have won. We were the better team and the combination of terrible officiating, bad shooting and an utter lack of flow (which can never be underestimated for our system) really cost us.
Luckily there's a lot more games to play. This is NOT an RPI killer. We just better wake up quickly and be ready for Iowa State!
P.S. It was awesome that Steve Merfeld laid into the refs during one of the timeouts. It's kinda cool having two head coaches, in a way.

I changed my prediction after the R/W scrimmage.
If we mop the floor anything like the way we mopped up St. Ambrose and Quincy, then we are all in for a treat.
This is the 4th, not 1st, game that this team has really left me wanting a heckuva lot more.

I'm going to hold off on my record predictions until I see what Les can do with these men after 1 real season game. One thing I would like to see change is the offense. I think Les is still stuck in the small ball mode of last year. I think if he utilizes Collins height more and draws some fouls, thats easy points at the line. A big center that can make the FT's is very rare. Instead of missing 20 three pointers, 6 or 7 of those could of been dumped into Collins hands and turned into points which would of likely won the game or made it a lot closer. Bradley shot 28 threes and made only 8 where UIC only shot 13 threes and made 9 of them. Need to work on our inside game when the threes aren't falling. I'm not buying into the 22 TO's as most of them were carrys and BS illegal screens. On the plus side we were +9 in the rebound department and made 15 of 17 FT's. UIC missed a whopping 12 FT's on 29 attempts. Get in some good video tomorrow, then couple good practices on monday and tuesday then we'll see where were at on Wed night.
Hopefully we can beat Iowa State and get that RPI in good shape since they are ranked #1 as of right now!

I still expect this team to challenge for the MVC championship and make the NCAA tourney. We've obviously got a long ways to go, but we've got three straight home games to get things figured out. There is plenty of talent on this team. I think by the time we get to San Padre it will be clear who deserves minutes and we will have a much better rotation.
It was pretty much one ref that seemed to be a true homer as he asked to look at the monitor on the 3 pointer and was a good 30 ft. away from where the shot was made; he also overturned an over and back call made by the official who was at center court yet he was under the uic basket so it would have been impossible for him to see; he made the charging call on wilson and the loose ball foul call on Crouch; yes he was terrible and did hurt BU"s chances but our defense right now is terrible and the only way for this team to win is by scoring 90 points as we are giving up way too many; Sam Singh"s performance was no surprise to me as he was a good player before he had all of the injuries; with all the new players that we have it is going to take time to get everyone on the same page so I may be dissappointed about tonight but I still believe we have enough good players to put together a good season.
