  • Bad Day for the Big "Least" conference

DePaul, Cincinatti, and South Florida all lose on Friday.

For Cincinatti, whose streak of 42 home opener victories was snapped by Belmont, Marcus Sikes logged only 18 minutes but still pulled down 7 rebounds - tied for 2nd most on the Bearcat team, but the other two players logged many more minutes.

Cincy clobbered at home by Belmont!

It must have been pretty ugly, note this quote from the article--

It was so disgusting for the home crowd that Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson left his courtside seat with 1:45 to go. The Bearcats are in their second season digging out from the mess caused by Bob Huggins' ouster and the school's decision to go a full season with an interim coach. Cincinnati went 11-19 and ended up last in the Big East last season under Cronin, who had to cobble a roster together on the fly.

      "cobble a roster"

Gimme a break....they still have the recruiting power of the Big East and landed a Top 25 recruiting class, including the very TOP junior college player in the country two years ago, John Williamson, and numerous other very fine recruits....

Add to that, there were a few decent 3-Star and 4-Star players left over when they fired Huggins....so the "cupboard was not bare"!

If Cronin continues to do this bad, he can't keep using excuses.
