  • Bradley finishes #24 in final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

In another first for the Valley, the season ending Top 25 contains two Valley teams! Interesting that the two teams Bradley beat finished ahead of them, but hey, going from no votes to the Top 25 ain't too bad.

Find the 2024-25 NCAAM rankings on ESPN, including the Coaches and AP poll for the top 25 NCAAM teams.

Actually three of the Braves' last four games were wins againt Wichita, Kansas, & Pitt, and yet all three of those teams end in the rankings ahead of BU. Even when they make the Sweet Sixteen, still no respect.

        Fantanstic!

Great to see Bradley finish the season ranked #24 in the country!

I expect this could be a good recruiting resource.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

Eh I'm pretty happy with it. I wonder if O'Bryant returns and we get one of those major recruits that we've been talking about in the last couple of weeks if we won't be preseason top 25.

Hey, the B12 has only two teams in the top 25! Will Billy say that those idiotic pollsters must think that the MVC is as good as the B12?

Funny you should say that, as the final Midmajor Top 25 is due out today!

                      Story from BU Website

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley men's basketball team continues to reap the benefits of a run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 as the Braves today finished 24th in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll of the season. The final Associated Press poll of the season has not yet been released. The national ranking is the first at any point of a season for Bradley since the final poll of the 1987-88 season when the Braves finished No. 11 in the AP poll and No. 12 in what was then the UPI Coaches Poll. The 2005-06 season now is the 14th in which Bradley has been ranked in the final poll of the year. Bradley's national ranking comes on the heels of a strong second-half finish. The Braves (22-11) won 13 of their final 17 games of the season, including three wins away from home against teams that were nationally-ranked at the time of the game. The team's season-long seven-game winning streak included a 71-49 win Feb. 22 at then No. 25

It's a joke anyway. How can Kansas and Pitt be ahead of us after beating them head to head. Rankings are subjective and the real fun starts in March anyway. If POB returns and someone else steps up we'll have a good chance of cracking the top 20. Ruffian will do his thing and probably have to score a little more, POB will only improve over the summer and we still need someone who can step out and hit the three to extend the D. Otherwise everyone will be doubling up POB.
