  • More on Insight network

Here is a release with more info about the Insight broadcasts and their network.--

PEORIA, Ill. -- As the season-opener Saturday at Illinois-Chicago creeps closer, Insight Communications continues to work at expanding its network of cable providers that will air its nine productions of Bradley men's basketball games this season.? Insight today announced the addition of three Mediacom service areas to the network, which will mean its nine productions will be available from near the Illinois-Indiana border to the Iowa border across Central Illinois.? Insight's package of Bradley Basketball telecasts will begin this weekend when Frank Bussone and Chuck Buescher describe the action of Saturday's 7:05 p.m. opener at Illinois-Chicago.? The games will air on Insight Communications Channel 44 in Peoria.? Insight customers in Bloomington, Ill., can view the games on Channel 22, while Insight subscribers in Galesburg, Morton and Pekin may view the games on Channel 74.? The addition of three Mediacom master footprints -- Gibson City, Good Hope and Kincaid -- to the Bradley Basketball TV Network will provide coverage to many of the smaller communities across Central Illinois, all on Mediacom Channel 78.

I noticed that the Kincaid location lists Sangamon County and Springfield is in that county. I can't imagine there's a town in IL named that, so it appears it may be on channel 78 down there. Now I have direcTV which stinks because I won't be able to see the game at home on regular TV I have to watch it on the computer feed.

Sorry, but I can't say what communities will ge the game.
What I would suggest is anyone outside of the Peoria-Pekin area should call their nearest Insight office and check to see what areas will have the games available.

There is an Insight office in Springfield--

Mediacom is even more spread out than Insight. Here is their main page with an 800 number. I would suggest any Mediacom customers check with them and request they carry the game--

With these games being on the public "ad" channel, I don't see this being on in Galesburg or Springfield. Each station shows specific ads to those cities only. I'm sure it will only be in Peoria/Bloomington viewing area as i've seen ads on that station for bloomington also. I'm not positive though so guess we'll see tomorrow night.

                Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

                  Games on TV

There are a lot of questions about where Saturdays game will air. In the Peoria/East Peoria area it will be on Channel 44. This includes a few other communities as well. Other cities served by Insight, as far East as Bloomington will see the game on Channel 74. If in doubt, check both channels at 7pm.

Mediacom will be airing the game on Channel 78, throughout most of their coverage area in Illinois. If you are served by Mediacom in Central Illinois you will definitely see it on 78.

The first game will not be seen in the Champaign and Springfield areas.
