  • SI.Com Writer Says Patrick O'Bryant Should....

Go pro- as he will likely be a top 10 pick...

???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

7-8 of these underclassman he has as top-10. There are at least 3 Srs and 1 European tagged as top 10 as well. i.e, they can't all be top 10. I think the writer's perspective on Glen Davis is spot on for POB.

    Glen Davis, Soph., F, LSU
Though he was the SEC Player of the Year and had a terrific NCAA tournament (minus the loss to UCLA in the national semifinals), Big Baby is, well, a baby. He needs to polish his offensive game. With another year of experience he could be unstoppable.
    What He'll Do: Stay.

    Patrick O'Bryant, Soph., C, Bradley
O'Bryant is raw and just starting to develop his offensive game. The 7-footer could definitely use another year, but there are several NBA teams that would love to have him in their lineup. Projected to go in the top 10, O'Bryant would be wise to go now while he's still a hot commodity.
    What He'll Do: Go.

The difference between Big Baby and Big Pappy is that POB is 7 feet tall. You can't teach that.

That being said, Danny Granger was projected as a top 5 pick last year, and fell all the way to 17th.

Is there a reason that PO'B won't be a hot commodity next year? Will he get shorter or the demand for big men in the NBA diminish? Am I wrong in thinking that he will be better next year?

The same SI guys have SIU at #10 starting next year with Wichita State following close behind. The Valley isn't going anywhere.

These people say this about POB

"probably a lock for the first round.
We're told he'll eventually declare and hire an agent."

These same guys have Marcellus Sommerville rated as the 97th best senior.

            Well two things could happen:
            1. He could get hurt
            2. Bradley could be a much worse team and O'Bryant could have trouble putting up good numbers/performances.

I don't buy this one. They aren't drafting the whole team, just one guy. They draft on potential. We've now seen guys that don't even start on their college team get drafted. Scouts are paid good money to see how individual college players would play in the pros. It doesn't go unnoticed if a guy is getting double or triple teamed.

Plus, as a big BU fan, I think they will have a good year if PO'B is still around.
