  • Will the Valley be a one bid league?

The Missouri Valley Conference has established itself as a consistent multi-bid league. But this season, finding a bid beyond Southern Illinois will be hard, writes Kyle Whelliston.

Is he trying to say the conference is in big trouble if our bottom feeders don't win non-conference games? I think that's a big leap. As long as most of the MVC doesn't tank, we should be OK. It would be more of a "perfect storm" for us to only get one team in the NCAA tourney IMO.

Perfect storm would probably be one team running the table and everyone else beating up on each other, with the others best at or near.500 and the running of the table team sweeping the conference tourney.

Unfortunately, last year, the MVC lost its public respect because of the Bracket Buster failure and WSU's collapse.
Back to square 2 in getting public respect back.

Bradley just needs to win enough of their quality games, and their bid will be OK. It's OK that Bradley does not have to depend on the rest of the MVC to do well.

The overall strength of the league actually hurt the MVC a lot last year. Had teams like BU and MSU been able to clearly separate from the rest of the pack, the MVC would have likely had 3 or 4 bids. As stated earlier, the BB failure and parity from top-to-bottom cost the league at least 1, maybe 2 bids.

I'm so tired about this talk about the CAA, how its up and rising, and how VCU is so good. Its a piss poor conference and VCU capitalizes on that. It makes them look good and all of the sudden they're this amazing team.

Right, a team we beat on the road last year finishing 4th in the MVC. How does the NCAA respond? No bid, oh and by the way since you're leading the country in 3 pointers we're just going to have to inch that line back a little, dont want you drawing any attention from our big baby schools.

We get crapped on. The 'big' sports writers/media outlets only love us when they know they have to because we're not moving out of the spotlight.

Yeah they only moved the line back for Bradley games.

We didn't deserve to make the NCAA last year anyways. UoI probably didn't deserve to go, and they beat us.
