  • Lexus Club Thoughts

If there are any Chiefs Club members who went early to visit the Lexus Club on Sunday, I would be interested in your thoughts.

I was not overly impressed. I felt like it was smaller (not sure if it actually is) and kind of "cold" in its decor. The location is certainly bad in relationship to the old club room.

I just don't see any motivating factor to go up there and buy beer for the same price as in the arena. At least in the old club room after we picked up some popcorn and a beer along with the press notes we were able to come on at floor level. I know my kids and any visitors I may have with me really enjoyed that.

I have similar sentiments. There was no 'Bradley' feel to the place, and it seemed kind of out of the way.

It was a long hike, and I was there pregame, but did not go up there for halftime. It was way too crowded, but that will probably lessen after the newness wears off. But I agree that there is no real great draw to go up there. It could use a few more tables, or counters to set your drinks and snacks down.

I don't think you're going to get much of Bradley feel up there. Since it's a room that will be used for many PCC events. For instance, it's open to all fans before, during, and after Rivermen games.

We, like others I would guess, decided to up our giving to the Chiefs Club this year to insure that we could go to the Lexus Club. We gave in excess of what we needed for our ticket maintenance, which we normally wouldn't do. I don't see us doing that again. At least until I start bringing in the "big nickels!"

I believe that as part of the agreement with Lexus, there can be no permanent pictures/posters/etc., hence everything has to be propped up on easels, then disassembled after each game.

My brother and I noticed a nice "beer garden" type area where the old ticket office was located. It is close enought to hear the band music and feel that pre game anticipation. Maybe we can have some impromptu gatherings there. We know that beer is the same price!

IMO, that is a very BAD idea.

We have a GREAT place we gather at halftime and we named it "THE FOYER"....it cost nothing, we have sold NO sponsorships and we are very close to Beer and Bathrooms. Usually about 25-50 various freinds gather in THE FOYER and its not very crowded.

It has a tremendous BU feel as most of us are donned in RED.

We also like it becuase we can still hear the band, see the court and get to see alot of other fans that stroll by THE FOYER and are welcome anytime to join us at no initiation costs or maintenance fees.

Stop by anytime, its by seciton 21.

                    Dru.

I'm liking the new large concession stand where the old box office was. Plenty of room, plenty of vendors, and you still feel like you're in the arena. There are also plenty of restrooms (new restrooms) outside of Section 2 by the new concession stand. Stop on by!

FWIW - If BU was planning on getting more people interested in upping their donations so they could use the Lexus Club, I think they've made a big mistake. Without some changes, other areas like the beer garden outside section 2 will become the popular pre-game hangouts.

I agree....they have indeed done some nice new things to Carver. Without visiting the Lexus room I'll just go by what reviews I have heard and the early results are not positive. Its too bad that those in charge don't often "listen" to the public, you know the ones that actually USE these places. They will hear complaints and instead of rectifying things they will just explain WHY its the way it is.

                          Lexus Room

I agree with just about everything that's been said. Not enough tables and other places to sit. They could use a shelf around the perimeter walls of the big room ... someplace you can put your drink and/or plate. We wound up using the garbage cans as tables. The bar room is nice, but when the big crowds come at half time for a quick drink, there's going to be a logjam at the bar doorway with people trying to get in and get out. Doubt that we'll re-up next year.

Just a question, does SIU have a Yugo Club? Just wondering!
