  • Another MVC preview

This preview is from Jim Benson, the MVC and Illinois State beat writer for the Bloomington Pantagraph--

He picks the MVC like this. Personally, I think he has IlSU and InSU a little high and not many I have seen have Missouri State as low as 7th or UNI as low as 8th. But I like his pick for #2.--
    1. Southern Illinois
    2. Bradley
    3. Illinois State
    4. Wichita State
    5. Creighton
    6. Indiana State
    7. Missouri State
    8. Northern Iowa
    9. Drake
    10. Evansville

And in case everyone hasn't had enough of these preseason previews, here was another one from the Omaha World Herald, and they also pick Bradley #2

Now that article mentions how we had a top 25 recruiting class... I've heard this plenty of times, but have never actually SEEN this list! anybody know where I can find this?... I know it doesn't really matter at this point in time, but just wondering.

Van Coleman of Hoopmasters ranked Bradley's 2007 recruiting class #23 in the country.
HoopScoopOnline also ranked Bradley's class in their Top 25, but theirs is based on assigning a point value for each recruit, then summing them up. Since Bradley had such a large recruit class, they finished in the Top 25, even though they had lower quality recruits than some schools.
But the Hoopmasters/Van Coleman rankings were based just on the quality of the talent.

Also, if you read ESPN Insider, Bob Gibbons is their resident recruiting expert. He ranked the 2007 recruiting classes and Bradley was ranked 24th on his list. This of course, though, was written before we lost a few guys because of the various issues.
