BB is a very smart person. Why would he bring up the old coach regarding something like that 6 years later? Makes no sense to me.

But that's splitting hairs. I asked the question because I honestly wanted to get other people's take on this. I think Coach Mo was a good coach, but I think part of his downfall at BU was perhaps not embracing the strong tradition that is Bradley basketball. Don't get me wrong - I understand why he may not have wanted to, and why some coaches may not want to. But perhaps embracing more of the past BU successes (and the great many people involved) may have bought him more time to right the ship on the Hilltop. But, what's done is done, and I am happy where this program seems to be heading at this point. My intent was not to unprovokingly bash Coach Mo.Once A Brave ... Always A Brave

Remember, most coaches take over programs on the downswing, so selling the past isn't always the wisest idea. I think it varies from program to program, situation to situation. I don't think there's a right or wrong on this one.
I think anyone that graduates from BU has a different feeling and passion for their school than someone from the outside. That's why I think Jerrance Howard will do well at U of I.

Hey Now, I didn't mean to start a scrap here. This wasn't about Mo v. Les.
Successful coaching is about building relationships, that is what "Get's It" means.
I was in school during the Albeck era and coached at Coach Mo's camps in the early days. And I have met Coach Les several times. I have no beef with Coach Mo at all. He did exactly what he had to during that era. I just think that Coach Les understands relationships and how valuable that can be. Every coach has to lead and build their program based on their beliefs and their personality.
I just think that we are continually seeing that Coach Les understands relationships and has a tremendous ability to build good will with ex-players, current players, adminsitrators, recruits, etc. A lot of people were skeptical about his inexperience and confident demeanor in the beginning. Many were I think fearful that he was all fluff and no substance.Get Well Massive Mike! "Once a Brave always a Brave!"
