  • What was really missing...

Last year we got around 20 minutes a game of HIGH ENERGY play from Zach. The game always changed when Zach went out. Other teams seemed to rebound and get into the lane easy. Now that we don't have Zach it happens almost the whole 40 minutes. We need at least one of our Bigs to play with his energy level. Most of our bigs play like they just took some Valium. They just look like they are at half speed. Salley has always looked like that so I was hoping we would get at least one big that played with that extra zip. Looks like we don't have that. It was nice with Zach to have a big that matched the level of intensity of Faulker and Coleman. Can it be that one of these guys has that in them?

I thought I saw a BIT of that from Collins but no where NEAR what we need. In the second half Salley and Collins both fought hard for some rebounds. I don't know if a kid can learn intensity. ZA just had that gift.

Our bigs need some fire....I hope JL can light it.

I think as the season wears on Theron will become that guy. It is something that this team is lacking right now, but it's early.

I actually think Austin plays with that kind energy level, he's just lost. I actually thought the very few minutes he played today he looked better on the defensive end of the floor also.

Salley actually looked pretty good today. He was fighting hard, and sometimes it doesn't look like it, but I think he can bring more intesity.

Zach didn't really play that way until his senior season. I think it takes some experience and confidence to play the way George is describing. I think it will develop as these new guys get experience.
