After reading all the posts it's clear that no matter what the band, cheerleaders, and game management people do, there will never be 100% agreement by every fan. But the experience at each game is what it is, and I think most of us enjoy and have a great time.

I appreciate the tremendous time, energy, and effort all the band members, Dr. Vroman and the staff, and the cheerleaders, and management people give.

Maybe not everyone knows, but none of these people are paid a dime for their time and work. Everyone does their "jobs" and gives their time and effort because they love doing it and they love Bradley basketball.
And that's what is special to me. Thanks for the great job everyone does!

I'm sorry for not seeing your comment earlier. That song you are refering to is not the fight song, but the Swing March. I'm pretty sure that we only do the chord changes when we play the Swing March during timeouts (and get past the drum part). If you want to talk to the band director about it, you can e-mail Dr. Vroman at dvroman@bumail.bradley.edu. Just be sure to use correct grammar and speak in a neutral tone, as he is in charge of not only Basketball Band, but the concert bands as well. In other words, he is a very high ranking person in the Music Department.

Thank you Jason. The above post by Da Coach says it all. The work that you do as well as the work done by the other people in the band, cheerleaders, and game management is greatly appreciated.
        Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

If it is the one I am thinking of... this is also one of my faves. The horns (trumpets) blast the 'bum bum ba-bum bummm bumba bum babum bumba bummm' .... then the chant 'Go BU, Go Go BU!' over a deliberate heavy drum beat.

I remember that song in the Fieldhouse days .... I think it was played during the last moments before tip off (seemed faster then, without the Go BU, Go Go BU chanting and the slower driving beat of the drum).... then again I could be all wrong... I was just a kid then.

One thing I have noticed is the spelling chants are noise killers. Other than those, I think the cheerleaders are doing a good job so far this year
