I said yes, but we all know that it is to early to tell.

    My reasons for yes -
    1. I think he realizes that he could use another year to get stronger.
    2. He has never made any public comments about wanting to go to the NBA early.
    3. I think he is having fun in college.
    4. I don't think he has any influences from home or friends to leave early.
    5. He is not the type of student who would need to leave early because of claaswork.
    6. HE HAS UNFINISHED BUSINESS TO COMPLETE.

The reason for don't know for sure -
    1. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    "Let's make some noise".

I have to say the #'s for Big Pappy coming back are very high but I thought we'd have more than 16 votes?

I strongly disagree with those who say POB will not benefit/ develop at BU if he stays another year. This aricle by Andy Katz on Joakim Noah shows what a difference a year can make in a big man. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaato...ndy&id=2396179

If POB stays one more year, he will be a top 5 pick in 2007.

I agree DB.....I think he should stay one more year.

However, if POB can receive assurances that he will be a lottery pick, I think he should take the $$$$$ and turn pro.

if pob is a lottery pick, he'd be foolish to stay in college to play basketball. he would get a great contract and could always get his education at bradley. sometimes i think we bu fans are selfish when it comes to what is best for this young man.

Once the predraft camps begin, some guys will move up the scale like Livingston did a couple years ago.
I suspect POB might as well, but guys like Noah, Tyrus Thomas are way more athletic and
will impress scouts more. I have yet to see a site that puts POB any higher than 10-12th,
so if he falls a few more spots, he'll no longer be a lottery pick.

I found a couple older posts about POB and the draft, and they are interesting:

                From Jan. 10, 2006
[quote]If anyone thinks POB is going to the NBA after this year is crazy. The only reason he will leave is if JL goes. Which may happen. [quote]

                From Jan. 4, 2006
A "Lottery Pick?", Gees the guys played 3 games this year.
                Oh I love Bradley fans!

In response to "user1", one poster said this on Jan. 5, 2006
If Patrick is a "lottery pick" I will cut yours. (grass for one year..)

                From Jan. 4, 2006
                Any legitimacy to this?
This guy is predicting not only for Patrick to leave this year, but to be a lottery pick.
                I seriously doubt he'd leave.

Just wondered.....as time passes does anyone think they should change their answer? I'm still waiting to hear something positive to go on but it's getting harder IMO!

I think he'll do the thing where he can declare for the draft but not sign with an agent. That will allow him to workout for teams and talk to them and see where he might go in the draft.

That gives him the option of returning if he chooses.

I hope he stays but if the big money is there I wouldn't blame him for leaving.

I know this is off the subject, but how hot is Tyra Banks?
Thanks flip! lol! Why worry about pob. he's a good kid. he knows whats best for him. He'll make the right choice.

Actually, it is not entirely off topic. If Patrick O'Bryant does go to the NBA, he will make millions of dollars, and then he can rub elbows with the rich and famous like Tyra. You know how those supermodels like to hang around NBA games and date NBA players!
