Everybody knew that he was a project and it would take at least 3 or more years for him to develop; Don Nelson wanted someone that could play now so none of this should be a surprise ; I know a person cannot turn down 3 million dollars but I think Pat would have been much happier if he had stayed his last 2 years at BU and would have been better prepared to enter the draft and still gotten his 3 million.

Pat made the right move. He's still got a long career ahead of him.

I will go on record as saying that the Great Karnac (see avatar) predicted that Don Nelson will not be back at GS next year. In fact, one might question if he makes it to the end of the regular season.

Nelson is old and grumpy and if he can only muster a win now and then, he will probably decide he would prefer to be at his home in Maui. After his years with Mark Cuban and the Mavs, he does not need any more money.

Don Nelson has been around basketball a long, long time. He knows basketball talent when he sees it and he wants to win. If POB was good enough to play regularly in the NBA, he would be playing if Nelson was the coach or not. Face the facts, he should have stayed at least 1 more year. The leading vote getter for the All- American team this year, who's name escapes me, stayed for at least 1 more year because he knew he needed that extra year. He's taking a bigger chance than POB because he would go higher in the draft.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I would think it would have something to do it. I don't think anyone would be fired if POB had shown enough improvment and had proved that he could play in this league Being sent down and not renewing his contract seems to prove that. That statement doesnt seem to add up.

I guess I dont see the big deal here. Given the opportunities he hasnt had in GS, Being an unrestricted free agent is probably the best thing that could happen to him....

He still needs to beef up and develop a nasty streak. I hate to say the same thing goes for our current team. Attitude goes a long way. DV was a bit arrogant and his team displayed that when on the court. JL needs to do the same with this team.

I agree Beam..obviously GS was a bad fit for him, so perhaps a signing from another team could be the best way for him to get solid playing time in the NBA.
