POB played well in the Warrior's last exhibition game last night-- 10 points and 6 rebounds. He has made the roster as the backup center. His performance still hasn't made Don Nelson consistently happy. Who does? Maybe Don expects a Shaq-like performance every time out from the inexperienced center?
This article suggests the Golden State will pick up the team option for POB's 3rd year (next year), which has to be decided by next Wednesday.--

That's great news to hear that the team is exercising the 3rd year of POB's contract. That will give POB 2 years to further develop and get closer to his full potential and then sign a richer, longer-term contract in 2 years.

Local writer in San Francisco-area paper thinks the Golden State Warriors can hit 50 wins...

but he says this is what's needed.........
"Don't give up on Patrick O'Bryant. His progress encourages one night, frustrates the next. But if the Warriors ever are going to beat the bigger teams like the Spurs, Jazz and Rockets, they have to ride out his rough nights and hope it clicks."

The Warriors get a lot of press around here more so then the college teams by far (CAL, Stanford, Santa Clara, USF). When I lived in the DC area I'd say U of Md and Georgetown recieved equal billing with the Wizards.

That was the way POB was at BU. One night great, the next night not so good. That is POB like it or not.
