Yeah I thought SS played much better than I expected... but I think Collins will start because of his height. Just being on the floor and able to run with the team makes his height pretty valuable. I do think that at least initially he'll get called for some fouls, and so SS will get quite a few minutes.

This may change as time goes on, but DC doesn't seem to be a big shot blocker despite being 7 feet tall. Initially that may sound like a negative, but that may save him a few silly fouls here and there that we've seen guys like Danny Granger and POB get called for. His age may have something to with that as well - We only saw DG and POB up until their sophomore years. DC is a junior and 22 years old, so he may have the maturity level to know not to swat at everything that goes up in the air.

While I don't want to see silly fouls, having frontcourt depth should let our bigs be more aggressive and challenge more shots. Last year if Andrews or Salley got in foul trouble we had to totally change our game plan, but this year we can keep bringing big guys off the bench.

that's cool.... From Friday, I am more concerned with freethrows and Sam M pushing off his defender..fwiw... I know what you mean about potential starting lineups... it is fun to
figure out.

I agree with those two concerns and am sure the coaching staff is well aware of them as well.

I thought Sam Singh looked much more mobile and better than I thought he would. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam starts Thursday ahead of David Collins or Rashad Austin. As those juco guys develop and learn the offense and defense, I think they may move into the starting lineup eventually.

I remember a very solid SS pick during transition more than any others. Jim does love having a good pick to free his guards, so you may be on to something...

Yeah....I remember that as well. Forget who it was, but they looked as if they had run into a brick wall! Awful hard to not be impressed with Singhs' numbers from last Friday night:
