  • UIC/BU Season Opener

The season opener for Bradley is coming, on November 10, 2007 at UIC. I know Chicago is not that far a drive from Peoria and there are a lot of alumni in the Chicago area. For those wishing to attend to root on the Braves (which I hope a lot do), there is a pep rally before the game in Chicago. Also there is a fan bus leaving from BU.

It is also UIC's season opener and I'm sure tickets will sell well, so I hope we can get a little red and white in there also to help our team off to a great start. I think the cheerleaders will be there too. Help them out as well!

    Go Braves!
    BU, Be Brave!

Any time you want the smily icon, you can always type a colon : followed by the closed parenthesis ). It will then show up on the board as a smiley emoticon, like this

It looks like one of the UIC players will be sidelined against BU with a knee injury

"Swingman Robert Bush, expected to be the starter at small forward when UIC opens the season against Bradley on Nov. 10, could miss a couple of weeks of action with an injured left knee."

Here's a lengthy preview of the UIC flames from the conference website:

This, plus Baptist's dismissal means that two of their preseason projected starters are out.

They are also without their leading scorer from last year, Othyus Jeffers who left the team after his junior season and transferred to Div II Robert Morris.

Some UIC folks I talked to are pretty high on Bush and think he could have a breakout year. He's a good shooter and very athletic, and they think that it will hurt a lot not to have him against us. Those same folks were a little more unsure about Baptist. They thought he could be in the rotation, but still viewed him as an unknown commodity.

All that being said, there is no excuse for this not to be a convincing BU win.
