I've been a long time BU fan and season ticket holder but have recently moved out of state (Cincinnati, Ohio). I'm planning to sign up for the BU TV internet package to see as many of the games as I can.

Can anyone shed some light on how the recent Insight cable deal could possibly affect the games we'll have access to on BU TV?

Has anyone had success feeding the games from their PC to their TV and what did you use?

PS - I have been trolling this sight daily for what seems like a lifetime now and I want everyone to know how much I appreciate everything they bring to the board. Now that I'm not in Peoria anymore, I'll be counting on this board to get me through basketball season.

Regarding BUBRavesTV, I know they have spent considerable time and effort trying to improve things with it this year. Lest year the links didn't always work right for the video or audio feeds, and archives.

I can comment about feeding the video to a TV. I would expect the quality would drop, since it drops off when I put it to full screen size on my computer screen.

I actually got an answer from the Bradley Athletic Department about the effect of the Insight deal.
    Here is what they say--

The Insight package should actually increase the number of games we are able to stream on the website this year, since they are showing at least six road games. All regular-season home games with the exception of Michigan State (ESPNU), Creighton (MVC-TV), Southern Illinois (ESPN2) and potentially the BracketBuster (ESPN family) will not be available due to restrictions outlined by TV providers.

Thanks to the Insight deal, the road games at UIC, Loyola, Missouri State, UNI, Evansville and Indiana State will be available. We are working on getting a shared web feed from the Horizon League for the Wright State and Butler games if Insight ends up not broadcasting those games (still a possibility). Road games at SIU (ESPNU), WSU (MVC-TV), Drake (MVC-TV) and potentially Creighton (MVC Wildcard) will be unavailable for streaming due to the TV restrictions.

We haven't made a decision on the exhibition games. Coach Les has not been in favor of streaming those games in the past, preferring instead to "surprise" our season-opening opponent. We'll have to make a decision on those this week.

Welcome, Peoriaspitefire, I live in South Florida and rely on the bubraves.com webfeed extensively for my Bradley basketball fix.

Last year, for me at least, the live video feeds always worked. Like the DaCoach, I recommend you continue to watch it on your computer. Blowing-up the little screen on a tv results in a pretty grainy picture. But on the computer monitor, it's pretty good.

Looking forward to having more games over the internet with this new insight deal. I think last year only three road games were available on the Web like Illinois State, Tenn Tech, and Creighton.

The only problems last year were the audio feeds, and I think that's been fixed. I don't think it was Bradley's problem either but rather something to do with WMBD's server. For some reason though audio archives on bubraves.com are not working right now. Video archives are. The site is being upgraded, so maybe they'll be working later.

Don't forget, The Jim Les Show is also available streaming on the web via the WMBD website or bubraves.com.

Coach - Am I correct in assuming that this sentence is backwards? The games listed above are the only home games that won't be on the BUBraves.tv, right?

In any case, the fact that the Insight games will be available on the web is great news.

Regarding BuBraves.tv, it worked pretty well for me also last year (much better than the year before), but I would agree that the picture quality is not good enough to bother feeding it to a tv (unless it's significantly improved).

I actually just cut and pasted that bold section in my post above right from an email from Bradley. But as I read it carefully, I think you are right.

I am sure it means that all the home games will be streamed except those games that are carried by ESPN and the MVC Network.

Thanks for the info. I'm working on signing up now. Hopefully I'll be able to get back for at least 1 or 2 games this season. Living near Cincinnati does have a lot of basketball options. Unfortunately for me though, BU isn't playing any of them this year.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm excited about being able to see more games than I originally thought. At least I know for sure that the BU sweet 16, final four and championship games will be televised!

Maybe in the next couple of years we'll even have access to HD quality over the net...

I just found a road game I can actually get to this fall. Dayton is only about 40 minutes away from me!
Tue, Dec 11 Wright State at Dayton, Ohio 6:00 p.m.
