The Indiana Rivals site, (Peegs.com) has interviewed Matt Roth and state that despite the bad news recently revealed at IU, that Roth's commitment is still to IU.
a couple quotes:
"Like fellow Indiana commit Devin Ebanks, 6-foot-3 Illinois guard Matt Roth got the early word from the Indiana staff about the self-imposed sanctions on the team following new revelations on impermissible phone calls.
"They called me and talked to me about it," said Roth. "It is just something that we will have to face as a team. Just a little bit of adversity and another bump in the road. In talking to the coaching staff I think they are doing a great job and the university is doing a great job handling."
He remains firm that he will sign with Indiana in November.
"It doesn't really affect my commitment," said Roth. "I am still crazy about being a Hoosier. I think the school and athletic program are handling it about as well as they could."
Roth was the only one of the three Indiana commitments not to make Friday night's Hoosier Hysteria event.
"I stayed home with my high school team," said Roth. "It is getting down to the point where we are getting close to that starting date. We just have two and a half or three weeks. I spent the weekend with them, we had two open gyms."
But as more revelations come out, and more violations surface....there IS growing effort or sentiment among even long time IU fans, to dump Sampson...
I found way more posts and threads on the IU boards calling for firing KS, than I found supporting him, which I find amazing, since some of the anti- threads
are moderated and deleted. Let's say in a couple more months, KS is fired, then is MR's commitment still solid?
