  • Bradley's 2007-2008 billboard

We have just received pictures of the billboards advertising Bradley basketball for 2007-2008.--

They are posted on the Pictures forum, here is the link. If anyone has comments, post them in this thread.

I like it but an concerned that we left the other seniors out? Not sure why we would do that when we had them all involved the last couple of years?

In Billboard advertising, less is more (no pun intended) in order to sucessfully get the point across.
I'm OK with BU "only" highlighting the nations leading 3 point shooter and the nations leading returning assist leader, plus both are locals.
Also, isn't Salley the only other Senior on the roster?

yeah, salley is the only other senior and he was a juco transfer. i know he will be good this year but he certainly didn't prove enough last year to get up on the board with crouch and ruffin!

Sam Singh is in his 4th year at Bradley and therefore is academically a senior,
and like Danny Adams a couple years ago, might just consider himself a senior in his final yr.............
but I hope Sam hangs around and keeps playing just like Danny did.

(note-- it is also theoretically possible since Sam Singh lost two years to injury, that he could petition
the NCAA for the rare granting of a 6th year to complete his 4 full years of athletic eligibility,
which would mean Sam could possibly be here for this coming season and even two more!!)

I love it. I like how "re-defining Brave" has multiple meanings. Looking at the older ones, they were all pretty good.

Anyone else see the commercial that appears to be part of the same campaign -- Ruff and JC playing basketball with some kids (just caught the last few seconds)?

As an advertising major I'm really curious as to who BU hires to do these billboards. They seem to be really hit or miss over the years. I like the tagline of this one, but the images are distorted and sized very oddly. My favorite so far is the very simplistic "Believe It" with the Bradley "B."

I am getting to the point where I can't stand anyone using the word(s) "believe" or "believe it" or anything else with the word believe in it when referring to a sports team. It is so overused it just about makes you want to puke. You can't watch a sporting event anymore without some dumb arse lemming in the stands with a sign that reads "believe". When I see a sign like that the only thing I "believe" is that the person holding it as a simpleton. The other thing I hate is when a person uses too many " " in a message.

While I do agree that in today's sports world that the phrase "Believe" is overused beyond belief, back in 2004 it wasn't as heavily used. The main thing that is great about that billboard is its simplicity and its ability to cut through typical advertising clutter.
