  • Article on Matt Roth

Jody Demling, who upset Matt Roth and his family with an article a few weeks ago when he erroneously reported that Roth had dropped Bradley and narrowed his choices to St. Louis and Indiana, has another article about Roth.
Roth, who in faxct had not eliminated Bradley, and eventually eliminated SLU and decided on Indiana over Bradley, is the #4 ranked player in Illinois according to midwest talent evaluator Rick Bolus.

In this article, he reports on the other top Illinois kids ranked by Rick Bolus. Iman Shumpert is #1, and Bradley recruit Stan Simpson is the #3 in the state of Illinois.

Da Coach...did you read that whole article?

I am really losing a WHOLE LOT OF RESPECT for this guy Jody Demling.
Not only did he completely blow the prior story on Matt Roth, but....

Note what he says in this article:

"The top underclassman is 6-6 sophomore Jereme Richmond, who plays at Waukegan and has already committed to Ohio State."

Say what?????? this isn't a typo....this is a huge blunder....Jereme Richmond hasn't even seen Ohio State, Richmond committed to Illinois while he was just a freshman. How could Demling make such a stupid error?

And lastly.....he lists Diamond Taylor as "Best of the Rest", falling outside the top 14 underclassmen.
again, I am stumped about this, as the guy must not know how good Taylor is.
The other experts who have actually SEEN Diamond Taylor numerous times have the kid ranked way, way higher.
Chicagohoops has Taylor ranked #2 in his class ahead of Richardson, Jordan, and Colvin

and both Dan Poneman (illinoishsbasketball.com) and midstatehoops agree he is higher ranked than most of those others, including Prosser.

Yes, I was going rip on the author for a couple mistakes he made, but since he is primarily a beat guy for Louisville and Kentucky, I thought I'd let those blunders go.
What I was most miffed by... this is the writer who ticked off the Matt Roth family and all Bradley fans by reporting several weeks ago that Roth had dropped Bradley and narrowed his choices to St. Louis and Indiana. That was not true, and in fact, later Roth dropped SLU and narrowed his choices to BU and IU.
In this article, he mentions the schools recruiting the top players, but with Stan Simpson he simply says he is uncommitted. No mention of Bradley!

Sounds like these guys just give their opinion on MOST things. Some oinions we like and some we don't. I take all these experts with a grain of salt, and hope the best for the Braves.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
