Chicago Marshall head coach Lamont Bryant has lead the Commandoes to a 3rd place finish in the Illinois Class AA state tournament the past 2 seasons and compiled an inmpressive record of 108-23 in his 4 seasons at Marshall. Marshall, ranked No. 22 in the nation by Rise Magazine in its preseason poll, and favored to be the top team in Chicago, features seniors Ryan Hare (a guard/forward who has orally committed to Oregon State), point guard Ardarius Simmons and 6-7 Dorian Tyler (committed to Chicago State). Guard Darius Smith is rated among the top juniors in the state.
But today, he was suddenly fired by Marshall Principle Juan Gardner and Athletic Director Dorothy Gaters. They were embroiled in disagreements about scheduling and other matters.--
