    Some of them have learned that this is the "code" that the MVC figured out, but it is likely they will still avoid teams like the MVC and play teams they know they can beat.--

    USC at The Citadel. Texas Tech at Sam Houston State. Alabama at Mercer. No, these aren't typos. Some of college hoops' big boys are swallowing their pride and heading out on the mid-major road this season, writes Kyle Whelliston.

    They specifically mention SIU and BU as key matchups, power schools playing on the road at nonconference "emerging national powers"
    "Two Big Ten teams will venture into the Valley in December, as Indiana travels to Southern Illinois on Dec. 1, and Michigan State visits Bradley three days later."

    Of the 40 or so examples of the power teams travelling to midmajors, 8 are Valley games.
