Matt Salley as a junior college sophomore:
13.2ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.5 spg, 1.3 bpg, led his junior college team to 33-5, finished in the NJCAA Elite Eight (7th place), and was 1st Team All region. He was also listed as high as top-100 by some services when he was still in high school in North Carolina.

Rashad Austin as a junior college sophomore:
13.1ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.0 spg, 1.9 bpg, led his junior college team to 35-2, finished in the NJCAA Elite Eight (7th place), and was 1st Team All Region. He was also listed as high as top-100 by some services when he was still in high school in California.

...pretty eerily similar I'd say........I'd hesitate to call either one superior based on stats.but Matt is a senior and Rashad is a junior.

I guess what I really hope is that Austin can score or draw a double team in the post. That was an aspect of the game we sorely missed last year. Either way I like our depth at the 4 with Salley, Austin and a health Singh.
      Can we start winning soon?

I do too, as long as they don't get any speeding, seat belt, or red light tickets. Otherwise, we need to lock them up and throw away the key!
        Onward and Upward!

I'd rather BU cover incidents up, "buy off" the local news, and have posts deleted at this board whenever someone "in the know" mentions it.

          LOL!

man, i thought i was the only one nerdy enough to start guessing playing time! i have a few thoughts about it....

i think we will start 2 bigs this year because WE CAN! we have several guys who are expected to contribute down low. here's my minutes distribution....

            Ruffin--------33
            Crouch-------30
            Cole-Scott----8
            Wilson--------14
            Warren-------25
            Maniscalco----15

            Salley--------22
            Collins--------14
            Austin--------14
            Singh---------15

            salley will get his minutes.
one of the other bigs will start with MS and possibly get a few more than the other two bigs.
maniscalco will be a better option as backup point than cole-scott.

            GO AHEAD AND CRITIQUE IT.....

TCS scored over 1000 points in JUCO so I really hope he plays more then 8 minutes and more than Maniscalco. I see Maniscalco getting 5 minutes or less a game this year. I really hope that both Collins and Austin are good enough to play more then 14 minutes a game and more the SIngh.
              Can we start winning soon?

i can respect those comments. basically i had to choose either TCS or SM as the primary backup point guard. i chose SM. it was a hard decision. also, SS has supposedly made enormous health improvements and has known the system for two whole seasons now. as far as austin.... i think a lot of people are overrating him considering their knowledge. like tornado said earlier in this thread austin has almost the same exact juco stats as salley did. i think collins has huge potential because of his size and athleticism but he could easily be a regular foulout if he plays significant mins.
