Really sad for Valpo as they were building an MVC championship team! I loved going to Valpo this year for the Bradley Game! If not for Duke Deen, Valpo could have won that game! I love watching games in there gym! I hope they can somehow maintain a competitive team next year! Although the MVC does lose good players to the Portal, it is possible to rebuild quickly with transfers! I wonder if any Valley team will take a chance on bringing a top division 2 team like Drake did in the future? Until we see who is able best to rebuild, I guess the Valley will be up 4 grabs next year!

There is another MVC player announcing that he will enter the transfer portal-
Joshua Reaves, a 6'4" 5th year guard who transferred to UIC a year ago after 4 seasons at Mount St. Mary. He has one more season of eligibility due to the Covid year, plus a redshirt year at Mount St. Mary.
Reeves only appeared in 16 games for UIC. He averaged 3.4 ppg and shot 41.7% from three.
Bio- https://uicflames.com/sports/mens-ba...a-reaves/10411
Stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba.../joshua-reaves
He was a regular rotation player off the bench for Coach Rob Ehsan and an effective shooter until suffering a shoulder injury in late November. He missed 6 weeks while recovering from the injury. Prior to the injury, he was a regular rotation player off the bench, averaging double-digit minutes. After he returned to playing in January, he averaged only about 5 minutes per game and he was not as effective a scorer over the rest of the season.

A couple more Missouri State players enter the portal, but since Missouri State won't be in the MVC next year, it doesn't matter.
If anyone cares, here you go - https://verbalcommits.com/conferences/missouri-valley

really barely heard of either of those Missouri State guys, both played extremely sparingly, but as I looked at their bios,
both are freshmen, so lots of time to possibly develop, and both had pretty solid high school careers.
Baldwin is a Chicago kid with promise...
But - Valentine averaged 34 points per game in high school to go with 10 rebounds & 6.2 assists!
He was named the Player of the Year in the state of Pennsylvania.
Wonder what happened? Some injury issues, but with those credentials, you wonder why he only got to play a handful of minutes.
Even so, he averaged 4 ppg playing just 6 minutes per game, which translates to 25 ppg had he got to play Bennett Stirtz minutes.
He scored 13 points against us in just 13 minutes on the court!
... and he averaged 47.4% from 3-pt in the limited time at Missouri State (9-19)
As bad as they were, they should have given such a "promising player" more playing time.
Now they lose the guy - I'll bet we hear more about this guy down the road...

As noted above, MVC Freshman of the Year All Wright (15.5 ppg) to enter the portal - https://x.com/GoodmanHoops/status/19...25176548426111
And likewise, Evansville's second-leading scorer (14.9 ppg), All-Freshman team member, Gabriel Pozzato, also to enter portal - https://x.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1901729890497360213
Evansville's top scorer, Tayshawn Comer (16.2 ppg), also to enter the portal - https://x.com/247HSHoops/status/1901733983894794714
Wright and Pozzato have 3 years of eligibility left, and Comer has one.
Time for the yearly roster rebuild at Valparaiso and Evansville.
