Yes, another major blow, especially to Roger Powell and the Valpo program and fans. - https://x.com/TiptonEdits/status/1900239028102062469

After 8 years in the MVC, never finishing with a seed higher than 7 and playing every year on Thursdays in the MVC Tournament, their future was looking good with Schwieger, Wright, and the others.
I expect All Wright to follow him, seeking more NIL money elsewhere.
Ironically, his twin brother Carson Schwieger transferred to Valpo a year ago from Wright State to team up with his brother. Carson Schwieger didn't contribute as much (averaged 2.6 ppg) and only started 3 games for Valpo this season, but one of them was the semifinal MVC Tournament game against Bradley.

And not to be picky yoda, but his name is spelled Schwieger.

I am going to change the title of this thread to something like, "MVC players in the portal".
Because there will be a lot more.
Here's another one- SIU's Kennard Davis, who chose SIU over Bradley 2 years ago, is entering the transfer portal. Another tough breal for the MVC, and especially for SIU. - https://x.com/ThePortalReport/status...92134097359320

Kennard Davis' stats at SIU - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...nnard-davis-jr

Davis was 4th in the MVC in scoring with 16.3 ppg.

Probably not long until All Wright enters.

Have seen posts before about Reink Mast. With the state of college basketball and the portal, wonder what his situation is. If I remember right he has one year of eligibility. Correct me if I am wrong. If he expressed interest interest in coming back to BU wonder if Wardle would want him back. On top of that he is prone to injury. See how that situation develops or if it does.

Rienk missed this entire season due to a re-injury of his knee, and he underwent surgery last fall. He has said he would like to return and play his final season of eligibility in 2025-26. But, when he said that he was referring to returning to Nebraska. He would need a waiver from the NCAA to get a second medical red-shirt season. But if he was interested in returning to Bradley, and if Bradley had an available scholarship, my guess is Coach Wardle would love to have him back. He was a dominant player for Bradley, and would have been the MVC POY in 2023 of not for Tucker DeVries.

So are you saying it would be easier toget a second medical red shirt if he was at BU?

6th year medical waivers (redshirts) are not unusual, (Will Egolf & Sam Singh both got one), so I think there's no doubt he will qualify and stay at Nebraska for his final year. Especially in Rienk's case where 2020-21 doesn't count against his eligibility, and thus, he's really only used 3 years of athletic eligibility- 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.
I think everyone associated with Bradley would love to have him back, but I think that's a longshot.

Also - back to the original topic - bordering on irrelevant now but Missouri State's best player Dez White, averaging 14 ppg & 37% from 3-pt, is in the portal
