    MVC Women's Tournament - Senior guard Soleil Barnes named Newcomer of the Year

    Congratulations to Bradley senior guard Soleil Barnes (transfer from Toledo). In addition to being Bradley's top scorer (15.7 ppg), she was named the MVC Newcomer of the Year today. - https://x.com/BradleyWBB/status/1899839437300707528

    Soleil was also named to the All-MVC 3rd team. Congratulations to Soleil Barnes!

    Bradley Freshman Ellie McDermid was named to the MVC All-Freshman team.

    The # 9 seed Bradley women start the MVC Women's Tournament in Evansville on Thursday, March 13, with a 12:00 noon game against # 8 seed Valparaiso

    Does anyone know Soleil’s status for tomorrow ? In the box score over the weekend she did not play in the game at Missouri State where they only lost by 10 on the road against the MVC co-champions.

      I have not heard of any injury issue, but I don't know why she didn't play in that game. I was in St. Louis and didn't get a chance to listen to the game. She made the trip to Springfield, MO.

      Maybe it was just precautionary, since she has played a lot of minutes this season for someone whose career has been limited by knee injuries. And the game was somewhat meaningless to Bradley.

            In addition to 11 points, Barnes also had 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals. The Bradley women advance to the 2nd round of the MVC Women's Tournament with a 64-57 win over Valparaiso.

              In the only game the BU women played this season against Murray State, they were beaten 81-55 in Peoria- https://bradleybraves.com/sports/wom...boxscore/22385
              Bradley did not make the trip to Murray this year.

              Murray was 22-7 this season, and 16-4 in MVC games.

                Both leading scorers in the loss to Murray State were the past two top Bradley freshmen.
                Bradley's top scorer was Soleil Barnes, 14 pts.
                Murray State's top scorer was last year's best freshman at Bradley Halli Poock, 21 pts.
