Predictions - for what they’re worth:
    1) Not all 4 seniors play. A couple don’t have the heart for the grind any longer.
    2) I think Burch leaves. He was the man in HS and thinks (or his people do) he should be that guy again. And there are a couple of hot shot freshman coming. I think he’s been recruited over.

From what I understand the top 3-NIL paid players will not participate in NiT…

The NIL should be agreements clearly outlining expectations for attending practices, team meetings, media sessions, and mentoring younger players along with post season activities… ensuring their leadership extends beyond just games.

Programs could also implement incentives or consequences tied to participation, making it clear that being a leader on the team includes more than just individual performance. If senior players with major NIL deals are opting out, it raises questions about the balance between personal branding and team commitment.

        A little off topic ….

but during the MVC tourney, there was debate - and even some doubt that Drake would get an at-large bid if they lost - a team that is 28-3, 17-3 in conference, NET in Lo 50’s and undefeated, 6-0, in Quad 1 & 2

but just now as Indiana got clobbered & booted in their first game of the Big 10 Tourney - all the talk was that they should be comfortably in the NCAA Tourney. They are 19-13, 10-10 in conference, 4-13 in Quad 1, and NET in lo 50’s.

Can some help me with this logic?

For comparison, Drake's NET rank was 56, with an overall Strength of Schedule of 142, and a non-conference SOS of 275.
Last year, Indiana State had a NET rank of 28, and they had Strength of Schedule of 116 overall, and a non-conference SOS of 202, and they did not get an at-large bid.
Drake would have been unlikely to get an at-large bid this year.

Is this just water cooler talk? Or is this legit?

All of Indiana's 13 losses are Quad 1 "good" losses, so they are not a negative in the eyes of the committee. So they have 4 Quad 1 wins and no "bad" losses (Quad 2-4) which makes them seem like a solid resume.

Drake has only 3 losses but they are all "bad" losses (Quad 3). They also have only 1 Quad 1 win compared to Indiana's 4 Quad 1 wins.

IMO they put too much value on "bad" losses, while letting teams in power conferences benefit from all the "good" losses. Not fair to any mid major who don't have the opportunity for all those "good" losses and the chance to snag a few quad 1 wins.

And why is this? And my guess is the 3 are Deen, Hannah, Zek?
I honestly can't see Duke passing up this last opportunity to play in front of the fans who absolutely love him, and I thought the feeling was mutual.

They would be letting down the city of Peoria IMO by not giving their all to the end...unless their motives are something we don't see.

Could be the 1st Braves team in the millenium to get to 30 wins.

The Bradley NIL people should arrange to have a table at Carver Arena and bring a supply of jerseys and T-shirts of the Bradley players, as well as autographed stuff to sell. Not only would that make Bradley players' merchandise available to a large number of fans, many of whom do not know where to find it, it would boost the NIL revenue for the players.

And does anyone know why Bradley merchandise disappeared from the arena on game days in the last half of the season?

Well didn’t Duke basically just tell the Journal Star he’s going to play as hard as he can for the time he had left just yesterday? Wouldn’t that imply he’s playing in the NIT?

It was there every game. I bought stuff even at the last game.

Sorry I missed it. Where was it? If it was in the main lobby, I wouldn't have seen it.
Like many fans, I entered from the entrance across from the Jefferson St. parking deck, and never went through the main lobby.
