Darius on all defense team and happy for him but Christian should have been on there. Not as flashy but the best. Stortz sees him on his nightmares.

That actually gets me angry. As I commented above, Darius deserves no less than 1st team, and Zek deserves 2nd team. But I can understand the politics involved, and the voters just aren't going to vote for every Bradley starter, and many of them probably just look at scoring numbers when they vote.
But, I cannot believe Christian Davis didn't get enough votes to belong on at least the 3rd team or on the All-Defense team. He sacrifices his scoring ability for the good of the team, and he is a tremendous defensive player. Bradley would be playing on Thursday if we didn't have Christian Davis.
I hope it motivates him and the other players to decimate the opposition this weekend.

The one other award that I find the most curious... The Defensive Player of the Year award went to Evansville's Connor Turnbull.
Is he the first person anyone thinks of as a great defensive player?
How many agree? I have a strong suspicion that many of the voters simply looked at the statistics for the most blocks per game, which Turnbull leads by 0.1 block per game. But blocks are only a small part of "defense". Other than that, his stats are not really very impressive (8.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.4 steals/game). He wasn't even a starter for Evansville until the last half of the season, and he only averaged 21.7 minutes per game.
Would anyone take Turnbull over Darius Hannah for defense?

Wow - nothing for CD! That is a total disgrace! IMO I think CD was better all around defensively than Hannah, but at least they recognized a Brave for defense.

I agree with Darius on 2nd team. I expected a little more production from him this season, but not to take anything away from a great season! Zek on 3rd team? You gotta be kidding me.

Nice to see them honor Ja'Quan, as they usually do for BU freshmen. Our seniors always seem to get the shaft with these awards.

Obviously I don't want our players disrespected, but these awards worked out well for us. This should have put a chip on their shoulders and made us super hungry going into the weekend. Time for these guys to show the voters how wrong they got it.

As much as it enfuriates us fans, I don't think it bothers our guys nearly as much and their collective goal is to win in St. Louis this weekend and all individual awards mean very little in comparison. But maybe DB Jr can relate the chip on his shoulder from the snub in 2020 to some of the guys for extra motivation.
With that said, don't think anyone needs more motivation - the biggest goal from the start of the season is right in front of us, and everything they've worked so hard for, and any success gained has been to win Arch Madness.

Extra motivation never hurts, while I agree the ultimate goal was to win Arch, I guarantee every guy in the locker room feels slighted. Go listen to some old Jordan stories about how he got motivation.

All-Freshman Team: Ja'Quan

Agree with the comments about Davis being slighted. That just shows me that the people doing the voting don’t watch the games. Davis was our shutdown defender all year, and he wasn’t too shabby on offense, either. And if you watched the last Braves video drop, you probably noticed BW calls him Coach Davis!

Ridiculous. CD should have been all defense. He guards 4 positions - all of them really well. And gets 5 shots a game if that. Last game he held Campbell to 0 points - and took 1 shot. All about winning. Oh well…Congrats to the other guys - they deserve it

I don't know the criteria for the all defense team but my two favorites from the Braves are Christian and Ja'Quan.

Definitely Jim! And most of us thought Quan might be a liability on D after seeing videos of him rather lax on D in high school.
