  • 2025 MVC Postseason awards

The Missouri Valley Conference began announcing the 2025 post-season awards yesterday.
    Here is the 2025 Scholar-Athlete Teams - https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sit...hlete_Team.pdf

UNI's Tytan Anderson is the MVC Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Connor Dillon was named to the 3rd team, the only Bradley player recognized. Congratulations Connor!

If the announcements follow the same order as last year, expect these awards to be announced today (Tues. 3/4)-
    All-Bench team
    6th man Award
    Most-Improved team
    Most Improved Player.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, 3/5, will be the MVC postseason banquet, and should be the announcements of these awards-
    Player of the Year
    1st, 2nd, and 3rd All-MVC teams

    Defensive Player of the Year
    All-Defense Team
    Freshman of the Year
    All-Freshman Team
    Newcomer of the Year
    All-Newcomer Team
    Coach of the Year.

They should have a best fan based chat website. I know who would win that

I assume UIC gets most improved team. A HUGE turnaround this year.

I expect Bradley to have multiple players on first and second teams, but a not a lot of individual awards. Finishing 2nd is a great achievement, but many felt they underachieved in a lot of after being projected the overwhelming MVC favorite.

I don't consider this team to have underachieved by any means. Take out the 3-game skid and we've been a great team - not always playing a complete game, but we won nearly all the close games, and to have won 24 at this point is better than we've done in nearly 40 seasons! I like the depth we had this season - sure nearly every one of our bench guys could have played a bit better, but we got good contributions.

Nobody expected Drake to win the league and dominate. Most of us would have thought a 15-5 finish would be good enough for 1st this season. The non-conf season went very well and up to expectation to put us in a position for At-Large consideration. I think 1 more home win would have put us on the bubble (still not a great chance of getting in), but all eyes ahead to St. Lou now!

              My predictions are:
              1st Team: Duke
              2nd Team: Hannah, Zek
              3rd Team: Davis

              All Defensive team: Davis

              Most Improved: None

              All-Freshman Team: Ja'Quan

I think Belmont's Tyler Lundblade was robbed, as well...
The kid averaged 0.3 ppg and 0.8 ppg in his first two seasons in DI, then averages 12.5 ppg this year on 48.3% 3-pt shooting!
In his last 8 games he went 43-74 from 3-pt (58.1%)!
Does he not qualify for Most Improved Team?

Probably because he is new to the MVC this season. Historically, the players on the most improved team have all been returning players, so it must be how the award is defined.
