  • Bradley signee for 2025 Montana Wheeler named Houston Area (SWAIC) Player of the Year

The SWAIC (The Southwest Athletic Interscholastic Conference) is the Houston area conference of top private basketball schools
that Xavier Academy plays in. They just named Montana Wheeler PLAYER OF THE YEAR

    "
The 2025 SWAIC Player of the Year!
Leading the conference in scoring & assists,
Bradley University Men's Basketball signee Montana Wheeler had capped off an incredible senior season leading his team to an undefeated regular season record."
In addition, his coach (and father) Teddy Wheeler was named The SWAIC 2025 Coach of the Year.

What an accomplishment for Montana Wheeler. Can't wait to see him next year in a BU uniform. Sure there are many talented players in the Houston area. To receive this honor just shows his overall talent level. With the incoming three recruits so far, hope coaching staff can land home runs as far as front court players that we need for next year.

How exciting to see this dude alongside JaQuan - hopefully for 3 seasons! Not much size, but lots of heart and scoring potential.

Excited to have Montana! Will he be better then Duke Deen or D. Brown. With top honors in Houston area, can he be an ALL American player? We've had real good guards for several years but is Montana a game changer that can lead Bradley back to the MVC Championship game? Time will tell!

Me too! If he could grow an inch or 2, would be nice!

Duke's diminutive stature at 5'8" prevented him from driving to the hoop (and not getting swatted) even with his high hops. I'm thinking the same may be true for MW at 5'9" and not as stocky and Bully. The MVC has a lot of size in the paint and it's a very physical mid-major league, so his size right now is the biggest concern from what I've seen/read about him.
He does look super quick and not afraid to drive into the paint and create!

Gonna be fun to see what he can add to the 25-'26 Braves!

What’s wrong with short guys, LB? Hmmmm?

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
