Illinois State (currently tied for 5th) has a small chance to get the # 4 seed and avoid the Thursday games,but they need to win their last 2 games (vs SIU & Evansville) and hope that Belmont loses their last 2 (vs Mo St. and Murray St.). The only thing at stake in the Indiana State-Murray State game is seeding for the tournament. Murray State most likely will be between the 6th to 8th seed, and Indiana State is most likely headed for 8th to 10th seed.
ISU Red got down by 14 with 2:16 to go in the first half but was able to get cut the lead to 43-35. The Redbirds are shooting 14-33 overall but just 5-17 from 3 point land. They were also just 2-2 from the FT line. SIU was 15-27 overall, 8-14 from 3, and 5-6 from the FT line. Just 12 fouls were called in the half.
In a game that has seen 5 ties and 9 lead changes ISU Blue leads at Murray State at the half 40-39. Once again Murray State has shot a lot of FT's as they are 12-17 while shooting just 12-31 overall, 3-10 from 3. ISU Blue overall is 14-27, 4-10 from 3, and 8-10 from the FT line.
SIU breaks their 4 game losing streak, and improves to 8-11 in the MVC. Their final game is Sunday at Indiana State.
ILSU drops to 9-10 in the MVC, and no longer have a chance to get the # 4 seed. They will now need a win over Evansville Sunday to salvage a .500 season in the MVC.
Murray State improves to 9-10 in the MVC. Their final game is Sunday at Belmont.
Indiana State drops to 7-12 in the MVC. Their last game is Sunday against SIU.
The Redbirds could never get over the hump in the 2nd half losing to SIU 88-79. ISU got it as close as 5 with 4:17 left but 2 straight 3's by Kennard Davis Jr. pretty much ended the game. As usual fouls were plenty to come by as ISU was whistled for 16 2nd half fouls which led to SIU getting 24 FT's. SIU shot 27-54 overall, 13-24 from 3, and 21-30 from the FT line. ISU was 29-64 overall, 10-27 from 3, and 11-15 from the FT line. With this loss Belmont is one UIC loss from clinching at least the 4th seed.

I got us playing either Murray St. or Ind. St. if we finish 2nd or Valpo or UIC if we finish 3rd.

I thought Murray State was an easy game since we beat them there. However then I saw what they did at Northern Iowa and Drake. They can be scary if they catch fire

After watching games this season, and how jekyll and hydeish we play, I don't think any team is an easy game for us.
Amen to that! That's why I think we lose our 1st game or go all the way.
All will come down to how involved the refs are. If they come in blowing the whistle every minute of play, I don't like our chances. If they let us play and we get in a rhythm, watch out!
