Whether or not the current one is out-dated, I think this is a good thing because it's just another new upgrade that the coaching staff can show recruits. I know a scoreboard isn't something that is going to make a recruit choose BU, but it certainly can't hurt.Once A Brave ... Always A Brave

The people who decided to buy the scoreboard are the same committee who decided on the sculpture out in front that is used for numerous purposes. :-)
And they are going to purchase the new scoreboard from the same company that sold them the first set of retractable arena chairs a couple years ago.

Bruce Saurs, owner of the Peoria Rivermen, when talking up his team on October 6, 2005 (from the PJStar, and I would provide a link, but the link is outdated and dead):
"the Rivermen ...set a franchise record for season ticket revenue...This is a big-time thing for Peoria. Our local economy will benefit - our head coach, assistant coach, trainer and equipment manager all came in and bought houses around here."
"Bradley University basketball in the Missouri Valley is a mid-major at best, and it's not going to get any better than that. The Peoria Chiefs have a good operation, in a low class-A league. The Peoria Rough Riders? That's not even pro sports. It's a semi-pro mess that's insignificant in the community.
