  • Keep improving

So happy Bradley was able to get two road wins in difficult places to play. Bradley clearly showed who the better team was. Coach Wardle in his post game comments of course was glad to win, but told the team there is still room for improvement in their play. Could not agree more. We did not play our best but still win both road games. Up coming road games that have me concerned are at UNI, Drake, and ISU Red. It is a good sign that so far we are not playing our best basketball yet and still win both games on the road trip. Wardle and staff no doubt are showing each day in practice where they can improve their play. Keep improving so we are playing our best ball come tournament time. Let's go pluck the birds Saturday and keep the win streak going. Above all else, keep getting better. "GO BRAVES"

I think the improvement on offense is because we changed a lot of things as far as more screens and motion. Quan, Corey, Meta and C.Dillon have made big strides as far as making shots.

You nailed it T'Hawk! We had about 4 games where the offense was in a funk and our motion was too stagnant. Things have looked so much easier since the Indy St. game on offense.

VERY impressed with out FT shooting all season, which is atypical of normal seasons where we hover around 70% (it seems).

Can't say enough about how much of a boost Quan has given this team...and has been a pleasant surprise for many fans with his D and hustle on both ends!

Speaking of more screens, I had a closeup look at the offense of both Belmont and Bradley, and both teams use high screens a lot. I have noticed that officials seem to not be calling as many moving screen fouls as they did in previous seasons, even though players on both teams were getting away with moving their feet a little or extending their back end while setting screens. It happened a lot in that game, and I have noticed this in earlier games, too.
Personally, I am glad they appear to be de-emphasizing that call. It helps teams like Bradley and Belmont (and Drake) get more open shots, and allows drives into the lane, as well.
