That was once again ugly, but Duke stepped up at the end, and a nice shot from Zek too.

We are still not where we want to be and there are obvious weaknesses we won’t be able to fix. So we may not be top 50 like we wanted, but I keep harping on we should still be able to win this conference with no great teams if we work on getting better. We can just as easily be losing these games though, so we have to get better as Brian keeps saying.

Turning point to me - Thomas the last ten minutes. I’ve been saying he’s clearly our best 5 man if Darius is playing the four. He r may some nice post moves tonight which was nice to see. He had a rough one against Drake, but there really are no other options. Meta is fine for a few minutes in the right matchups, but isn’t a starter minute guy. Linke looked decent last year off the bench to me, but he looks like even slower this (not sure if that’s lack of game play of not). I’ll concede he is not the better option with Meta after watching a few games now. We just don’t have athletic posts. Keep giving Atlason minutes off the bench here and there to see if he can get it back, but Thomas should be the fifth starter for me.

I thought Brian was better early in the year with subbing and rotations, but lately it’s been a little wonky (I agree with some posters on that at this point). I get he’s trying to find something for a struggling team, but now it’s time to lock in a set group. I think we now know who can and can’t play, and what matchups fit which bench players. We need to eventually shorten the rotation to 9, but it’s hard when Johnson, Burch, Dillon, Almar, and Meta could all get minutes.

Like Brian said it’s a win, but we’d like to play better.

We cannot continue to play guys that cannot score. We were better today with Hannah on the bench, he needs to get his sh-t together if he wants to help this team win.Thomas and Jonovic need to get all of Linke"s minutes. Meta did a good job playing zone under the basket, that is where he belongs on defense.We pretty much were going to lose this game because of whom coach decided to play today.Too many guys with zero points. When you are struggling to score on offense you cannot continue to play guys that cannot score. I hope we learn from this today.

Darius and Zek aren’t mentally tough enough if they aren’t scoring. That has to improve.
JJ is proving himself valuable with his defense and spot offense.

I get most frustrated by the lack of hustle DH and ZM when they are struggling from the field. ZM's lack of hustle on the ft at the end almost sunk us.

We somehow gutted it out and got the win. But we can't continue to play like we have and hope to have any chance in postseason where teams will have strong inside presence. Still have a good portion of the conference season to go. Have to play up to potential. Come on Wardle and staff. Light a fire under the guys to play hard the whole game. Let's go Braves.

What is wrong with Atlason the last 5-6 games!? Played today with nothing on the stat sheet but 1 foul and 1 turnover in 17 minutes. The potential is there with a nice shot but not hitting it right now. Could be the sophomore slump but not sure. Hopefully we play better come Wednesday night against ISU blue, We definitely escaped a loss today but still managed to gut it out!
