  • Who controls the music at the game??

We seem to struggle to find a DJ during the game that’s going to play decent music. What in the world are we playing this Rap/ R&B BS that no one knows or likes. We need energy during the games- there’s about 20 songs we can play that are meant to drive up the energy during crucial moments.
Fire this DJ and let’s get some tradition back. Damn near every single person in my section has complained about how awful the music is tonight’s Let’s make a change immediately.

Bust out the 70’s and 80’s rock is what I say!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Yes, it is annoying. I noticed a couple of the hip hop songs contained vulgarity, though it seemed to be bleeped out. Please, whoever is in charge, we do not need that. And the volume is still way too loud.

I’ll do it for free and will have Carver rockin’ in no time. Sorry Coach, the decibels will need to go up, not down, though!

Way too loud AND not playing to their audience. Look at the crowd that is paying to be there and play to them.

Please don't say we are playing this to attract the students, it does not work and you have paying customers who, as we say tonight, can rock the Civic Center.

You all need to get over yourselves. This is why the energy at Bradley games lack because you all do a golf clap and whine about music YOU haven’t heard. Stop and think this is what the players like, this is what recruits like. EVERY other valley team has high energy music like this and who cares if it’s to loud! Does it get “too loud” when the crowd cheers for a Darius dunk? Don’t go to games if this is the kind of problems you have

I agree with the recruits and the players wanting to hear their selection of music. Sure, that’s fine but the DJ yesterday played Kendrick Lamar 8x in a row- sorry but that’s not any hype music, the DJ seemed to play what “he” wanted to play. Have you ever been to a U of I game and seen their production? They aren’t playing Kendrick Lamar over and over and over again… maybe see a game for yourself. We have so much potential at Carver to rock the place for a basketball game and we are wasting it.

As a matter of fact I’m a Bradley season ticket holder and I’ve been to every game this year before the Valpo game. And yes I’ve been to a U of I game, I was at the game when the played #1 Tennessee. No they didn’t play Kendrick but it was still rap…. Guess who cared…. Nobody. The sound system, the bass was all booming. I’m curious can you name any of the songs played by Kendrick? I’ve never noticed or had a problem with the music selection. Way back when Bradley fans were mad about “Bring em out” by T.I. It’s a recurring issue. Lets just focus on the basketball and cheer for our team!

Dude, calm down, this is a message board to have discussions like this. I don't think telling people to stop going to games because they bring up not liking the music is reasonable, and one of the complaints was about profanity, which is a valid complaint.

There's nothing wrong with voicing an opinion and you're doing the same thing you're accusing the folks here of. You're on a forum giving your opinion about something you don't like, so you could just as easily take your own advice and just not go to the forum, or at least not that particular message. And just to be clear, I'm not wanting you to do that. I welcome your opinion, just don't think your comment trying to shut down others for voicing theirs was fair.

Well hey that’s makes two of us season ticket holders that have been to every game this year- Go Braves!
I cannot name any of the songs by Kendrick the DJ was playing- does that make any less annoying that the DJ still is failing to play some music that’s geared to getting your crowd hype? If you went to the U of I game- did they play Kendrick when the crowd needed to get involved? -No, and that’s my point, rhe DJ at Carver isn’t playing to the game situations, the man is over there playing his own music.
Bring Em Out- By T.I.- good song- much better choice than whatever that was yesterday.
Could focus even more on the basketball game if the music selection fit

I’m perfectly calm, I’m making my point that comments and statements like these only hold back Bradley basketball from advancing into the modern day and age of fandom and game atmosphere. And clearly im not telling them to not state their opinion.

Just stop and think for a moment, it’s like going to a restaurant and complaining because the way the food being cooked doesn’t smell the way you want it to, but others make like it.

In the same way, going to a basketball game it’s gonna be loud, there will be music and not everyone is gonna love it but it is what it is. Were there for the main dish- the basketball.

I understand what your saying and your not wrong. I’ll agree id maybe pick other music or different songs at certain times, I just think it’s an unnecessary argument. And to be clear, I think we are on the same page, I’m more putting my original thoughts out there that have a problem with any rap AT ALL. We have to adjust. People like this, the players like this. And also many rock songs can be just as lewd and vulgar, but it’s always bleeped out so I don’t see a difference.
